I can only offer an opinion... it's up to you to determine if it's sufficient to move that discussion elsewhere...

No where in the OP, nor in the title... does it refer to, address, or even mention Charlie Kirk... the difference in reactions by ideological leanings, 'media messaging' and activist pewling are fair game to talk about... elsewhere... the pit provides the perfect place for the partisan bullshit that always accompanies the perspective.

I would completely retract this opinion if this is what the author wanted to talk about... I inferred it was the crime...  perhaps I am mistaken.

Perhaps his actually 'mentally unfit' son took offense...and acted out...as an actually 'mentally unfit' person might.

I’m withholding judgement on this until more details come out. It’s hard to grasp what would push a son to kill his father but this guy always seemed like an ass in public so maybe in private he was too. Let’s see what comes out in the next few days.

On the surface, RR appeared to be a loving father to his mentally ill son.
Behind the scenes...who knows what their relationship actually was like.
