The DOJ’s redactions of the files are vast – and the reasons for them go beyond what the law requires. In some cases, entire pages are redacted. To comply with the law, several redactions had to be made, according to the DOJ. Information redacted, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said, included any material that contained personally identifiable information of victims, child sexual abuse materials, classified national defense or foreign policy information, or would jeopardize an active investigation.

The completely over-the-top redactions and refusal to release the information on time speak volumes.

And when it all finally does come out in the wash.

These pathetic attempts to obfuscate and hide the truth will be like a boat anchor wrapped around the neck.

A Democrat administration sat on them for four years and wouldn't release them.
A Republican administration is sitting on them and redacting them.
And the Democrats are now also 'selectively' releasing instead of just letting it all go.
Everyone wants the files released except those in power on both sides.
Too many of their own in the files.
And .. unfortunately .. the people in power ON BOTH SIDES are going to win.
There will never be full disclosure on this.

He's the sitting president, and Trump has broad authority to declassify and order the release of federal files.

Both the Democrats and the Republicans HIGHER UPS deserve to be 
dragged through the mud on this one.   I'm not giving the Biden 
administration a free pass simply because they are out of office now.
They deserve to be spanked just as the Trump administration does.
They all suck.  Every last one of them ... both sides.   Trump is 
dragging his feet on this and he's in office now so he deserves the
pressure put on him.

Hmm.

Why didn’t the Epstein act form a third party / commission to take charge of the release of the documents.

If there was anything that was useful against Trump the Biden administration with James Comey's daughter as a federal prosecutor on the Epstein case would have released / leaked that information.

Face it, it’s political theatrics where it’s just a political football at this point.

Is the redactions over the top?  The law still requires protections for victims.
