Questions for those who know Jesus

After all, he was a only a man, and not omnipotent here on Earth.

Jesus has a dual nature.
He's fully God.  He's fully human.
He displayed evidence that He was still omnipotent on Earth.
He showed that He knew all souls and all events.
He saw and conversed with supernatural beings both good and bad.
He was in direct communication with God the Father - back and forth.
He healed and broke natural law on many instances.

He obviously knew all languages, all thoughts, all hearts, all souls.
If He didn't, then He wouldn't have been God incarnate and the New Testament would be wrong.
If you believe the New Testament is wrong, that's fine.  Believe what you wish.
But a person can't be a Christian and not believe that Jesus is God incarnate.
It doesn't work that way.

The 'lost gospels' were condemned as false.
They are in direct opposition to the actual canonical gospels.
And Buddha's teaching is directly opposed to that of Christ in the New Testament.
Not the superficial fluff stuff .. the direct theological stuff.

"Wary of all the attention, the now 14-year-old Jesus, aka Issa, leaves home. He “secretly absented himself from his father’s house” and “with the object of perfecting himself in the knowledge of the word of God” he makes his way to India. There, the priests of Brahma “welcomed him joyfully” and “taught him to read and understand the Vedas” and to “cure physical ills by means of prayers.”
Most interesting are the unique teachings of Jesus that are highlighted in The Life of Saint Issa, some of which may have been informed by his Buddhist and Hindu teachers. What follows are a few excerpts, rewritten in modern language."

"While the historical accuracy of Saint Issa's life as presented by Notovitch remains highly contested, the figure symbolizes a bridge between Eastern and Western spiritual traditions, inviting exploration into the broader context of Jesus' teachings and their potential influences from various cultures. The story of Saint Issa continues to be a subject of interest for those exploring the intersections of religion, history, and spirituality." (AI)

Apparently that's an observation many religious scholars and researchers have noticed.

The debate is about whether the similarities are due to shared human insight, cultural cross-pollination, or simply a mere coincidence.
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

We all know why they were condemned and why there is opposition ... because control and power.

Or because they were theologically wrong and faked.

See my edit in the last post please.

You can't claim omnipotence, follow God's plan, and not know when the world is going to end.

"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Mark 13:32

It's just not how omnipotence functions.

Then again, that's probably because it's not a thing.

The problem is that when we define omnipotence as "able to do absolutely anything" it quickly runs into logical paradoxes.

It's hard not to make those connections to Buddhism and Hinduism when one really tries hard to understand what Jesus is trying to get across (from all sources).

Does it not stand to reason that if Jesus wanted to bring the light to all mankind, that he would need to learn their religions and languages?

----------

"Matthew 28-19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: KJV
Matthew 28-19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,NIV

Matthew 28-19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ESV

The Greek word translated as Teach and make disciples is mathēteusate μαθητεύσατε.

This word is a verb and means to disciple or to instruct.  To disciple someone is to teach them. Jesus spent 3 years teaching his disciples. There is no “to make”  in the Greek in this verse and there is no noun disciple. “To make disciples” simply does not exist in the Greek. "

Again, it could be argued that there are indeed striking similarities between Christianity, Buddhism, and Hinduism.

But wisdom often arises in similar patterns across the human experience.

Possibly because the different paths are leading toward the same light or truth?

Don't they all lead to self-knowledge and the soul's ascension, charity and love?

The link below has quotes that certainly are very similar in meaning to those found in the Bible and Jesus' teachings, IMO.

I think so, at least to a certain degree.

It's the other stuff they contain that can be problematic.  Saint2
