But about the method being used.
Thats true. A few years after I moved from Arizona Obama took their governor to be DHS Secretary.
Quote:• Janet Napolitano (2009–2010): In fiscal year 2010 (her first full fiscal year), ICE reported over 392,000 removals.
• 2025 Administration (Kristi Noem/DHS): Data through late December 2025 indicated the administration had deported nearly 327,000 people since January 2025.
So why didnt i care about Janet? Protest her deportations? She deported more than Kristi Noem!
I should be outraged.
Quote:"Invisible" vs. Visible Enforcement:
Much of the high deportation rate under Napolitano was achieved through expanded, behind-the-scenes programs like "Secure Communities," which used biometric information to identify criminal aliens in local jails, rather than high-visibility "worksite raids" or neighborhood sweeps.
It was her policy to keep it veiled to not terrify immigrant communities. Pick 'em up in the holding cell. And not detain them at Green Card interviews or in front of their children.
And she achieved better numbers going after criminal aliens and did it without the spectacle.
At a time everyone was calling Obama a Kenyon Socialist she ran The DHS better without instilling fear. Did it through "big brother biometrics" and low visibility apprehension methods.
No unrest caused. Conservative media was too busy teabagging the country and demanding birth certificates.
Trump uses visible sweeps that attempt to normalize federal intervention. Attempts to normalize a police state. Insurrection Act always an option for deployment.
So... Let me appeal to sensibility.
*IF* BETTER numbers can be achieved the Napolitano way, WHY is there even a need for these very public unrest causing sweeps, if its not solely to create a nationalist spectacle to justify more of the normalization of a police state?
She deported everything Noem was doing without the Russia Today-like Official Statements, propaganda commercials, and instilled STATE OF FEAR.
There was never the statements glorifying "our heroic ICE agents cleaning up the streets againsts traitors."
Never a quasifascist angle of enemies to purge. They didnt seek headlines for her departments methods.
And as a result there was no sensationalized scapegoating or civil unrest caused. There were no polarizing mass raids to rile up people and create shortsighted martyrs to increasingly lose our shit over.
like, I'm not pissed An ICE agent shot a woman who tried to block and engage them as much as im pissed America has descended into a culture where those type of situations are provoked by a deliberate and unnecessary type of federal enforcement... that normalizes the police state and makes all the worst headlines.
I'm pissed because his methods are tailored for civil conflict and schism.
And i convinced myself standing up to it (with internet words) could stop Brahman as the avatar of Shiva for some silly reason... before it's too far gone.
