It's wild seeing some calling for the Insurrection Act. That has to be the last resort IMHO, unless the situation gets a lot worse

I would caution that that could be what the left wants, especially in Minnesota

Hearing rumors that Walz will resign next week, as he expects to be indicted.

DHS, ICE, and CBP all need to be methodical and work with restraint. Continue to operate where it's safe and make progress, and stop the financing, and it will fizzle out

The first side that loses thier shit will have the upper hand, with the rampant fraud and graft, all they need to do is make that stick, and it's fine.

Its a shame there are cities that LE aren't assisting with crowd control, as needed.

Imagine if the MSM were just neutral on the subject.

There is still solid support well beyond Trump's MAGA base, for the continued ICE deportations BUT the margins (For Against for anything Trump does) were so small to begin with.

In the end, the DLWW(Deluded Liberal White Women)will just cost American taxpayers more money. This has to stop it's not fiscally responsible, we aren't lifting the American lower class as we should be, instead they are getting smushed under the newly immigrated and fraudulent subsidized middle and upper class. At least in Minnesota, they are, probably elsewhere too, Massachusetts, Illinois, Cali, New York....

DHS, ICE, and CBP need a Kim Brown speech; they might be saving the country

I wish our metro area would take advantage of hosting the NG.

Minneapolis ICE shooting
FOX 9MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Demonstrations are expected to continue on Saturday, four days after the shooting of Renee Nicole Good at the hands of an ICE officer in south Minneapolis.
Renee Nicole Good, 37, was fatally shot by an ICE officer, identified as Jonathan Ross, on Wednesday morning. Federal officials claim self-defense, but local officials have disputed that claim after reviewing videos of the shooting.
The shooting came amid a surge of ICE officers in the Twin Cities, part of what officials called the largest ever immigration enforcement operation in the agency's history. At the time of the shooting, the Trump administration had sent an additional 2,100 ICE officers and Homeland Security investigators to Minnesota. Friday, FOX News reported that the Department of Homeland Security was sending roughly 1,000 additional Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection agents to Minneapolis.

3:15 p.m. – Protesters march down Lake StreetProtesters marched down Lake Street Saturday afternoon after rallying at Powderhorn Park.
The marchers moved west down Lake before looping around toward 34th and Portland – the shooting scene – where a memorial has been erected.
1:41 p.m. – DHS shares video showing moments before shootingThe Department of Homeland Security shared video Saturday afternoon showing the minutes before Renee Nicole Good was shot by an ICE officer.
DHS says the video shows Good was stalking and impeding federal authorities. The video shows ICE officers taking part in an operation and Good in her Honda Pilot parked in the middle of the street at least three minutes before the shooting. The video cuts off just before shots are fired.
"The media continues to fail the American people in their reporting on the events in Minneapolis," DHS writes in a tweet. "New evidence shows that the anti-ICE agitator was STALKING and IMPEDING a law enforcement operation over the course of the morning. The evidence speaks for itself. The legacy media has lost the trust of the American people."
1:13 p.m. – DHS posts about arrestsIn a tweet Saturday afternoon, the Department of Homeland Security shared photos of four people arrested for assaulting law enforcement in Minneapolis.
The tweet reads: "Welcome to the Find Out stage. On January 7, Border Patrol Agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota arrested four individuals on federal charges for assaulting law enforcement. Absolutely NO violence against federal agents will be tolerated. Assaulting a federal agent is a CRIME!"
DHS didn't share specific details on the arrests, but Jan. 7 was the date of the shooting. In the hours after the shooting, there were tense moments at the shooting scene.

I must say in rereading some of this thread this morning, I’ve realized how ignorant, stupid and daft some of the people commenting actually are.   Some of you are literally arguing against video proof that anyone with more than a brain cell can see.   If it wasn’t so pathetic it’d be funny.   Thx for further reminding me I’m surrounded by complete idiots in this world even on a site called Deny Ignorance, where denial roams free on everything but ignorance.  Ughh

If the the officer fired the shots after being hit being hit by the car, how could he claim self-defence? The car would have had to back-up and then drive back into him, while he did nothing to get out of its way, for the car to strike him a second time. Clearly, the possibility of such a scenario stretches credibility.

If the officer shot before being struck by the car, it couldn't arrest the movement of the car, and may also have prevented the driver from braking, and steering away, and therefore would have been actually contributory to the collision.

The excuse that the officer fired in self-defence doesn't hold up from several chronological aspects.

Quote:Yes, the essence of the claim from the X post is reflected in Minnesota Statute § 609.066, as amended in 2020. While the statute does not explicitly mention "a vehicle accelerating toward" an officer or directly state "without requiring actual impact," it does authorize peace officers to use deadly force (including firing at a vehicle believed to contain a person) when there is an imminent threat of death or great bodily harm that meets specific criteria.
Key relevant parts from the current statute:
  • Subdivision 1 defines deadly force to include intentionally discharging a firearm "at a vehicle in which another person is believed to be."
  • Subdivision 2(a)(1) justifies deadly force to protect against death or great bodily harm if the threat:
    • Can be articulated with specificity.
    • Is reasonably likely to occur absent action by the officer.
    • Must be addressed through deadly force without unreasonable delay.
This framework allows for preemptive use of deadly force in scenarios like a vehicle accelerating toward an officer, as the potential impact would qualify as an imminent, specific threat that's "reasonably likely to occur" without intervention—no actual contact is required.
The 2020 amendment (Laws 2020, 2nd Special Session, chapter 1, section 10), signed by Gov. Tim Walz on July 23, 2020, added these detailed criteria to Subdivision 2 as part of broader police accountability reforms following the George Floyd protests. Prior versions of the statute had broader language on justifiable use of force, but the amendment refined it to emphasize objective reasonableness and necessity based on imminent threats.

The video evidence is not ambiguous, it shows what it shows.

You are seeing what YOU want to see because of who you sympathize with, but thats not reality.

So, you were told that the officer fired in self defence and that is then how you interpret what you see.

Yet the woman had already supposedly swerved towards the officer and the shots were after that.

There was no way the shots could protect the officer from something that had already happened (and that was totally unlikely to recur). The officer was not defending himself, the shots were either fired vengefully, or by accident.

Re-watch the videos and you will clearly see the sequence of events do not support what you thought you saw, because you were trying to interpret it on the basis of a false narrative.

Even if the officer had fired before being allegedly struck, it would not have stopped the momentum of the car, so it couldn't have been self-defensive. In that case, the shots would also have been contributory to the alleged collision with the officer, preventing the woman from both braking and from steering away.

To think that officers have a 'right' to kill someone in an official capacity, is clearly a misunderstanding of the intention and purpose of the law. If you have killed someone, you have become a killer - and there should be severe consequence for that because the act cannot be undone or adequately compensated - it is justice to convict a proven killer, even if it was manslaughter and not murder.

You forget “Or harm to others”

He shot her as she was moving forward a split second before she hit him, as you can see in the video. He acted out of self defense and eliminated the threat from possibly harming others.

This explains why the multiple shots.
“Police officers may use the double tap technique, which involves firing two shots in rapid succession at the same target to improve accuracy and effectiveness in stopping a threat. This technique is part of their training to ensure they can respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
