Isreal launches strikes on Iran

(06-13-2025, 09:14 AM)bastion Wrote: Some reports are claiming the Israeli strikes (named Operation Rising Lion) were years in the making and Commandos smuggled weapons into Iran with Mossad making a drone factory in the outskirts of Tehran to launch a trojan horse attack.

200 fighter jets are claimed to have been involved in strikes on Iranian targets (does Israel have that many?) with commandos on the ground in Iran using 'special weapons' to disable Iranian defences..also dozens of cars were rigged with explosives around Iranian defences/radar to take out other air defences.

Mossad are famous for their secrecy and some of the claims seem too fanciful but if true it's probably the best intel/special forces operation in history.

Looking at those special forces night vision pics, absolute balls of titanium.

"This is how Israel struck Iran's nuclear sites"

No expert, me, but if Iran's nuclear stuff is buried under mountains and hardened, won't they need bunker busting munitions and do they have have the means to deliver them?

The US does, so will they join in?

Israel is saying stuff about an "imminent threat".

Interesting times, indeed.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

Do you have a link? Can only find one in the UK and it appears like an Israeli special forces next to a blurred presumably dead Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Spending years behind enemy lines setting up factories to attack the enemy takes serious brass balls.

Apparently more strikes have occured in ther last couple of hours and Israel have declared it just the start of a wider mission - perhaps thery're taking out the regime, Revolutionary Guard and nuclear programme heads.

Just about all of Iran's key nuclear facilities, like Fordow, are deeply buried and hardened.

Hitting them effectively requires specialised bunker busting munitions, like the GBU-57.

Israel does have advanced bunker busters like the GBU-72, but their capacity to reach the deepest targets is limited.

And they dont have the heavy bombers needed to carry the largest bunker busters.

That's probably where the US could come into play.

And of course, if their political will aligns.
