The moon landing
#1
Back in the day I watched and felt a great deal of pride while watching the moon landings as did much of the world. There are things that can be seen left on the moon by the Apollo missions such as tracks of the rover moon buggies across the moon's surface ... I will go to my grave 70/30 believing we went to the moon.

Yes, it's cruel not to let the Boomers have that one. The moon landing, dinosaurs, nukes, the moral righteousness of America -- all of it's in there so deep that it's part of their self-identity, and next to impossible to change. Just let them have it. Also never try to tell them that the 60s wasn't about peace and love, but rather about addling them with drugs and filling their minds with enough memetic spellcasting ("music") that they will never reach the level of mental quietude necessary for significant spiritual insight. Most Boomers have hundreds of perverted hymns playing on a 24/7 soundtrack in their heads, and think it's just great. "Let it be".

And I will Live believing 70/30 they didn't, because if a person actually went there and walked on the moon they'd have a nice picture on the mantlepiece at home of their face smiling gleefully taken by their colleague who was also there and has one of him taken too.

With the Sun Visor UP of course. Not just a helmet and suit with an annonymous person in it.

Doesn't exist.

Most people trust what comes to them on the TV WAY too much. Heck, the BBC even fooled people into thinking that Spaghetti grows on trees!

Wisdom knocks quietly, always listen carefully.... and be a River flowing calmly.

There's a lot of theories out that that Stanley Kubrick directed the moon landing and that he left a lot of clues in The Shining as a confession.

Kubrick was supposedly meticulous so if there's something in there it was done purposely.  The one that comes to mind is the haunted room.  In Stephen King's book it was room 217.  In the movie it was changed to 237.  Why?  The theory is that the moon is 237,000 miles from the earth.

There's others from pictures on the wall to the color and pattern of the carpets.  Here's a pretty good story on it:

Kubrick Moon Landing

Cheers.

Hey, I'm a BOOMER and currently listening to the Eagles.

Maybe we didn't really go to the Moon but are you honestly going to tell me that spaghetti doesn't grow on trees?
Just a guy trying to get by
