I certainly hope you are correct.

Imho, best to hedge one's bets.

Because if we are wrong, we are never going to know.

As to life being a dance, i tend to agree, and put in mind of a class tune.

"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

This quote comes to mind.  Spin

"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."
- Friedrich Nietzsche

That "quote" predates Nietzsche.

Anne Louise Germaine de StaëlDe l’Allemagne [Germany] (1813)
Quote:There is perhaps too much freedom in Protestantism to satisfy a certain religious austerity, which may seize upon the man who is overwhelmed by great misfortunes; sometimes even in the habitual course of life, the reality of this world disappears all at once, and we feel ourselves in the middle of its interests as we should at a ball, where we did not hear the music; the dancing that we saw there would appear insane.
  • Pt. 3, ch. 3, often paraphrased as And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.

It seems to me, that the only way to consider the writing of de Staël and the Nietzsche "quote" to mean the same thing is to take them completely out of context.

The question being "What is more real, life or after-life?"
Those two individuals, if they had been contemporaries, would most likely have different answers.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama
