Example - China won't want to nuke America, because
they want our farm lands.    Destroying us
through technological attack and destruction
of us economically is what they want.  Then they

The seeming disharmony is about expectations, I think. 

We expect Russia to wage a coherent strategic war of conquest.

But was isn't about "conquest" anymore... it's about control... for profit... and that's all.

Every interested party, whether they profess virtuous principles, or claim a 'value' to participate... all can be "bought off"... even the aggressor.

In the 20th century, a world of industry and agriculture hubs... 'taking a thing' meant success... taking land meant control.  In the 21st century "land" and "populations" become an eventual liability.

Better to control the lives of the population...

That's where the "what the hell?" moments come from... we think they want the 20th century success... they don't anymore... they just want the loot.

The military there, practically a different country, have their own 'agendas'... but to reach those objectives... their leadership must agree... and here we are.

Ukraine... represents the 'one that got away' to many former Soviet aficionados... They instantly, and immediately adopted the posture we have seen from other countries... "I am hunted, I am in peril."

As per 'reality' their leadership however, remain atypically opulent, and distributors of spuriously applied "loyalty largess... and 'disloyalty' consequences."

(Just like "(y)our" "leaders" do...)

They are fighting... we've asked them to please stop now... we see the 'true' citizens suffering and dying...

The media continues the floor show of talking heads, telling us "how" to see this fight... as if it weren't just a stream of dead people... and a litany of "useful" destruction to "get even."

The media demands a war show... and they produce it with government oversight (and money?) and some gleeful and juicy producer jobs opening up everyday... and brownie points all around.

You  might begin to think that this isn't a war... it's a gang fight...

The nations in question won't declare a cease fire.... because they are no longer in full control.
They can't stop the war... they are weak... both of them....
and their weakness is lauded as "strength" and their pretense is reinforced.

Thats not an answer at all. 

I would only defend my nation if its shores were invaded, that's common knowledge, and i have said so on many occasions.

Thats sheer fantasy against a full-scale nuclear exchange. 

A quick search shows the two Iron Dome batteries the USA purchased in 2020 are not even integrated into US air defense. 

And if America has weaponised space...I think you may find thats ilegal.

Nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction are illegal in space or on celestial bodies.
The Moon and other celestial bodies must be used only for peaceful purposes.

You're in the same position and could not stop half of China's ICBMs, never mind Russia's full arsenal, even if only half of them are fully functional.

Nuclear war is quite simply a mug's game, it can't be won, hence the M.A.D part.

And hence the reason we don't wish to start one via dropping NATO troops into Ukraine.
