This is quiet funny to me. Newsom has been going off about withholding California collected taxes as a retaliation for trying to secure LA and a few other areas in the state. Sure California does provide a lot of money to the US as a whole, but do you know how badly California would be hit if the Government just pulled out of the state? No fund from Military Bases, no funds from federal programs or offices, and no money or taxes being gathered and exchanged from Federal Workers. This doesn't even include the lack of money for the state from shipping ports or Airports. Then there is the issue of safety and security, without US governmental protections by being a state in the US, how quickly do you think China or Mexico would come in and annex the place? 

I like how you try and toss in a NAZI angle here, but from the way reality works, you have groups like MS13, Tren de Aragua, the Sinaloa Cartels telling the government of Mexico where to crap. How fast would they own California without US protections? 

As for these so-called scape goats, if there wasn't a massive amount of them committing crimes against US citizens, do you really think this whole mess would be an issue?

Not like he can do anything about the value of my gold, silver, and crypto holdings. I don't think it's secession grounds yet, I think our focus is through court challenges in the immediate future. So, "See you in court" is probably more apt than getting to the revolution rhetoric just yet..

Plus, I get a feeling his #1 pet peeve in life is when people defy him, so it's like obligatory to do that now. In many different ways.

That was the most delusional rant I've read in a while. You need to calm down and return to reality. You are not a martyr making some ultimate sacrifice. You live a privilege life in a privilege state in the greatest country on earth your over dramatic. You'll be fine and Trump will still be president.

I am well aware of the unfiltered rant qualities of that post, as well as several others in this thread, as well as this one. It should be obvious I really don't care about how that appears objectively. But here, allow me to try to withdraw it back... to realty. My reality. 

My realty says:

Trump deliberately overstepped his bounds for the sole purpose of causing exactly what happened. To inflame a conflict so he'd get to put the military on Flower St. 

Guard and Marines? I'm sorry, we are not the ones that lost our minds. 

I believe he did it because it was the first protest against his (detestable) immigration tactics to get even a tiny bit out of hand. Just enough to be useful. And he wants to shut down all further occurances by using what he did to LA as an example. Any excuse to screw with California.  A war against his own citizens for acting out for what he callously does to noncitizens. And he sets up his own authoritarianism, as he mocks the triggered for their bleeding heart sense of humility and compassion. It's a scare/intimidation tactic. Now everyone will remain extra peaceful to not get the guard called. Or be too weary in the first place. In theory. 

The world of fantasy (to me) is the one where the military was needed the first place. The one where the LAPD couldn't handle it. The one where every city couldn't handle any it on their own. 

That wont be reality to you, but it will be to most of us in California, and a very large portion of the rest of the world, whose opinion still matters. 

So, different realities we'd return to when the derangement is shelved for a post.

I'm not so sure about the greatest country part either.  That type of alpha arogance and projected greatness bugs the everloving shit out of me. 

Maybe we have the greatest GDP, Military, and total number of gun violence deaths, but healthcare is like 12th to 24th, education is like 9th to 28th, 16th in quality of life, and so on in that manner.  Why do we need to be the greatest country as a matter of national identity? If you are it shouldn't really need it to be a descriptor. Otherwise, its indoctrinated imperialism and hubris shit. England doesn't even do that anymore. 

Does the country need to wave its dick as a matter of statemenship?
