Feb 11/12 2025 Blizzard Mid Atlantic/North East

I love weather stuff.  If I could do it all over again, I'd be a meteorologist.  I love to go to the weather forums that have all the amatures and meteorologists talking about the raw data.   The weather service gives you forecasts that have been filtered and interpreted ... but the weather forums don't do that.  It's great fun (at least, I like it)

https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis...612&fh=138

Not sure if that'll link up or not .... This is the GFS model run for Tuesday/Wednesday next week.

And here is the discussion at the weather forum .. take a look at the Kuchera ratio for that GFS run ...
It's about half way down the page.   You'll see the pretty pinks all over the map ...

https://www.americanwx.com/bb/topic/6153...d/page/91/

14 inches Philly.   19 inches DC.   15 inches Boston.
An ice event for farther South and to the West as well.
(NWS (National Weather Service) is saying we'll only have 2-6 inches here in Wilmington, but the maps say otherwise)

Kuchera does tend to run high.
But even if it's a bit off, it looks like a significant weather event for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Anyways .. starting a thread for the Feb 11/12 storm ... if anyone wants to talk weather ...

Weather has backed way off.
Now it's just about 3 inches for Wilmington when a couple of days ago it was over a foot expected.
Kinda kills the thread ...

A local weather guy wrote that they really aren't all that accurate with  forecasts/storm paths more than three days out.

I'm trying to get that into my brain about current weather "porn" being less than accurate.  Less stressful. Thumbup

Yeah, I have been following thoe forums that were posted and their excitement dropped considerably with the change of forecast. Well, there's always the week after.

"They" started out saying 14 inches.
Then this morning it was done to none.
Now it's back up to expecting 8 inches.
