This seems to me like a very complex & complicated case — that’s going to take a long time to untangle.

Except you are missing one key ingredient.....I am not demonizing. You are getting offended by the words I am using, there is a large difference.

Believe me, I am not offended by you or any others here that name call because they can't defend their point in a discussion. It is pure pity I feel.

In a respectful discussion, you don't say things like "You have some real problems you should probably work through on your own time." That's not addressing any of the points you or they were making, it's just a personal attack.

When we talk to people on the "other side" of a political argument, it's extra important to avoid ad hominem. Else the discussion quickly becomes emotionally charged and devolves into bickering, and at that point nobody is learning anything.

So that's like if someone made the logical observation that, if we allow people to have cars, there will be more car deaths....as an excuse to run them down.

He said this in week or two after the Nashville School Shooter where 3 nine year olds were murdered in cold blood.  I think people are insinuating that he felt other's death were acceptable result of the second amendment.  Timing is everything.
