I would guess that the core of the problem -- at least socially -- is that people, since about 15 years ago have gradually lost the ability to engage in civil discourse, that is, to tolerate opinions different from theirs without going batshit crazy.   I have seen this phenomena growing where I live, and it makes me unwilling to respond to people who pretend to bring up an news item, but project their view and are desperate for opposition, because they already have their contrary viewpoints saved.  It is disasterous to normal discourse.   We should be able to sit around a metaphorical campfire and talk about things without going all cray-cray.  Right?  Right?

In real life -- I'm "no religion" -- "no politics" -- "no medical/illness/operation" -- "no gender/sex".

I will just walk away.

I don't know exactly what you mean.   I will tell you that I don't believe I have a right to judge anyone, and I practice that nonright daily.
