The fact that they have images of the suspect, yet have failed to identify him thus far, is rather strange.

It's just that in this day of age, and given the coverage, i would have thought it would be near impossible to hide.

Kash Patel has already made a few false statements regarding the incident.

The man's not qualified for the position he holds if you ask me, and i believe words like "unprofessional" and "misleading" have been used, but that's another matter.

I just think with the images they have, somebody would have come forward by now or must know him.

Actually somewhat encouraging. They wouldn't be voguing it up for cameras if there was nothing to announce and only the appearance that they can't get the job done. They'd make an underling do that.

He claimed on social media(Twitter) that "the subject had been apprehended in connection with the shooting."

Which was rushed messaging to say the least, in what is turning out to be a very high-stakes case.

A more seasoned professional would have known better and held off until he owned the actual facts.

One thing I’ve been thinking about that is semi unrelated…

We’ve been told for decades that we need to erode privacy and rights for the safety of all. It started with the Patriot Act, and that laid the foundation for a host of other decisions that have us traveling around with phones that can be pinged or tapped, AI cameras everywhere that even can sell information to third parties, warrantless surveillance, ect.

All of this was so that they could get the really bad guys. And the justification was if you don’t have anything to hide, you don’t have anything to worry about. Hell, it started with only monitoring international calls. But alas, here we are. No safer, and plenty of recorded abuses of the new powers to spy on normal Americans and even politicians.

Does anyone here feel safer today than 30 years ago? Have those mechanisms caught enough high level targets to justify the sacrifice of the masses? To me it’s a resounding hell no. And while many may say it’s not that bad, it’s not that bad yet.

Just keep your ear out on how they want to respond.

They arrested two dudes separately and investigated them.
Both were found not to be the shooter.
This is how law enforcement works.
There was nothing false about what he said.
Maybe you should edit your post because it’s false, and refrain from posting falsehoods in the future.
It’s ok if you don’t like him but you don’t have to lie about him.

It's clear he prematurely jumped the gun on social media.
