Police have confirmed they have the guy on video from the moment he arrived at campus, his route into the building and up the stairwell, onto the roof to the shooting position and his escape all the way to a nearby neighbourhood.

makes you wonder why, if there is a video feed that shows him going on to the roof, why NO ONE covering security spotted it before he could get any shots off.   I mean this would be basic right?  Use the camera systems available and have someone keep an eye on areas like roofs that have line of sight.
It's probably the first thing to check for any event like this.

I have a Savage arms .270 with a nikon scope it does look very similar but it is indeed a mauser 30-06 with a smaller scope very very similar design.

They got this photo, it’s a person of interest. He was close to the shooting area. Who knows if it is the shooter or not!

I know that some people did see him - one took a video but did not think to warn anyone.
I am more concerned that if there are video cameras that captured his whole trek up to the roof, why was there not someone in security monitoring the feeds?
This is so slack.
You have an event in the open air and no one thinks it's a good idea to monitor security cameras???
