From the videos and pictures of it before it went down, it definitely looked completely intact.

If there was a bomb, you would think there should have been something visual.

There is zero to suggest anything externally wrong with the aircraft in the video. You an watch from them approaching the end of the runway and getting airborne until almost impact. There's zero smoke, zero sign of fire, or any other external issue.

If it was birds, or a bomb, or any kind of external issue then there would have been visual evidence. Passengers on the inbound flight reported a number of electrical issues on the way in, from the entertainment system to the AC. This plane never should have been turned in two hours with that many issues.

OK that is pretty incredible but again you can see that it was possible.

With this, I simply cannot see how he survived the fireball let alone the impact.
I actually put this as more incredible than Volovic's survival and also Koepcke's.

I am looking forward to the explanation as and when it comes.

i dont think there really will be. He has an impact amnesia moment that extends from right before the impact to coming to after it. 

He said he came too, was surround by debris and bodies, jumped through the emergency exit and ran away from the plane trying to get help for his brother. 

I can't think of anything but microsecond positioning and being in an insulted pocket of destruction. Like that guy that survived in an ship sinking in an air pocket 100 feet down. 

Its not a crash survival, but its more miraculous. 

Does the Roosevelt deck crewman that went through an A6 engine top this guy as far as million to one miracles? 

 I might just view it as incredibly dumb luck, but anyone is forgiven to see the hand of grace there.

I was always mystified by the air crash survivor stories, most are just random flukes in timing, like turning your head during a speech, I digress

In the book Eyewitness to Disaster, there was a boy who survived a little while after the passenger jet he was on crashed in NYC.

Crash survival stories are always miraculous and faith affirming. 

If the seats towards the back of planes were business class I'd be all about the last row, just in case. As imprinted by Japan 123, where all four survivors were in the last row or rear facing jump seat. 

The list of "sole survivor" accidents is pretty long, actually.

If he did, he’s definitely more messed up in the head than he appeared. The aircraft was in view almost until impact and was intact the entire way down.

According to one of the newer news report, they questioned the survivor in the hospital and he mentioned a loud bang, then the plane went right down. 

I am not knowledgeable about the design of those jets, but it would seem something had to blow up or snap and a small bomb or explosion in a certain area supposedly could knock out the control of the jet, whether from a bomb or just a small explosion somewhere.  What else would make a big bang like that that would cause that to happen?  One engine failing might make a bang, but that would not take down the plane would it?  Maybe on takeoff it might, you know lots more about that than I do...but I do think that guys statement to some official was probably correct...he did not say an explosion...a big bang...which could be a small explosion in the right place.  Could also be they hit something big, or possibly a failure of the framework or something.

A small bomb that’s going to leave no, or minimal visual signature isn’t going to bring a plane down the way this one came down. The only way it’s going to bring them down is if it hits a fuel tank. It wouldn’t cause them to settle down slowly like they did. That’s a sign of not enough lift. A bang, if he heard one, could be any number of things from a bird strike, to engine failure. But this flight was in trouble before they ever left the runway.

Back in 99 or 2000, I had to fly down to pheonix to drive my uncle back so he could move back to the U.P.  He was tired of living down there, not knowing hardly anyone.  It was in December or January, can't quite remember when.

Well, one way tickets were expensive, so I saved three hundred bucks by going to Vegas and then roundtripping two days later to pheonix.  On the trip down to Vegas, we had a storm ahead, and the pilot said he would go around it.  Pretty rocky, but the storm supposedly had a big head on it so we went around instead of up.  So we were about a half hour out of vegas at that time.  And the stewardess was standing right next to me asking if I wanted anything, there was a flash and we both looked out the window to see lightning hit the outer right hand engine...somehow she jumped up and landed in my lap with her arms around my neck.  we stared out that window, a little smoke, shaking, the engine was shut down.  She got up and was all embarrassed, everyone was staring at the wing.  she went to the front and everyone was staring out at the engine.  The pilot came on the intercom and said there was a charge built up on the nose and it flew off and hit the engine or something like that.  He said they can fly with three engines, it was nothing to worry about.

Well that cute little embarrassed waitress came back and appoligized, I told her she did not need to apoligize, she asked me if I wanted a drink.  I said sure.  She kept bringing me drinks the rest of that flight, we landed at Vegas and they said they were going to park on the tarmat, and be inspected before they went to the terminal.  Good thing that stewardess was giving me drinks, they had a firetruck and all sorts of other vehicles out there inspecting the engine.  We were on the ground there getting inspected for about forty five minutes...or should I say about three more drinks, she also handed me two of those little tiny seagrams bottles when we exited the plane finally, I was pretty drunk already.  Seems like if it was not a concern, they could have stopped maybe closer to the terminal than a quarter mile away.  I never saw the waitress again, I kept telling her she did not need to appologize, and I never did tell her that incident with her in my lap was the best part of my whole trip.  I was married, and I even told the wife what happened when I got home, she chuckled about it, my ex would have got really mad if I had still been married to her back then...even though I had no control over it.

That bolt of lightning supposedly from the nose sure made a big flash like a bolt of lightning.  I pretty much think that jet was grounded for a while for repairs, it taxied away towards some buildings before our luggage even came...nobody boarded that jet and they said that the next flight was cancelled over the intercom.

There was no demon creature tearing apart the engine like in the old twilight show years ago, just a bolt of lightning.  There was lots of people chatting in the jet after that, it sure livened up the atmosphere in the jet.

I am not afraid of lightning since then, having a cute stewardess land in your lap hugging you kind of makes you feel lightning is a reward.
