A good friend of mine, the ex-lead singer of a band I was in for years, lives in Bondi and both he and his wife were there, in the crowd, when the shooting started.

He has been posting that they were both all right.

The idea that this was all some sort of faked event is world-class stupid.

... and the police on site weren't shooting because of the potential for collateral. It was crowded, and is a built-up area, surrounded by high-rise apartments. Bullets that miss their target don't just dissapear. It isn't like the movies and TV.

Just saw the video of this.... Boris and Sofia are incredible heroes who tried to stop one shooter (the father) as he was exiting his car. Boris struggled for a few minutes(with cars driving by, no Sydney's finest to be found,however) before the murdering fucking bastard shot and killed them in cold blood.

the story of Sophia and Boris Gurman, the elderly couple, making first contact with this shitbird terrorists and paying for it with their lives. The selfless act of heroism displayed by both… incredible. I hope Australia lift up that family. I’m still trying to figure out who that woman was in the burgundy nursing gear running towards the other scene where the fruit vendor was in a struggle for his life and she’s running to help him I don’t know if she’s been identified yet, but she two is an amazing hero.
