Could they have possibly fallen off something like a small pleasure/row boat?

Maybe capsized?

It's certaily a possibility, they're meant to all be related with makes it even more tragic - I can't swim in clothes or keep my head above the water (wading?) and failed swimming test at school.

I've experienced cold water shock doing a race in the middle of summer; your body cramps up immediately so you can't swim and sinik like a stone - the shock makes you gasp for air and if underwater would mean instant drowning.

I only survived as a guy behind me saw what was happening and yanked me back up to the surface but there's a significant number of deaths every year when people swim into deeper, colder pockets of water.

I have way too many questions on this. There were a group of boys here that "drowned" and the media said it was because of a dangerous rip... in the river I have known all my life... that is only 1.5 meters deep at its deepest in high tide, the river has no current at that stretch of the river, water movement was basically tidal.

These kids didnt get caught in a rip, they were drowned by police and the media tried to make a total bullshit claim that there is a rip in thatt section of the river.

If this turns out to be three women of color who drowned, Im yelling from the rooftops that they were murdered by police.

Pigs murder people, especially if they're not yt.

It is the sea, not a river?

Exactly. there is no sane way they would choose to get in the water, fell in seems likely but if their POC Im going with drowned by cops before the "they were illegal migrants who jumped ship" crowd gets in.

Looks like they were related and visiting from London...

Im not too fond of the police also.

But it seems like a bit of a leap without any sort of corroborating evidence.

At least in this instance...

My first thought was asylum seekers, so being drowned by cops is a better notion to me.

Given its been a day, I doubt they were refugees. It would be all ovver thenews.

Sad to say, that was my first thought as well.

But further study would suggest that not many boats from places like France make it to Brighton.

I just don’t see the police angle.

And if they came from London, they could be from anywhere, given what a great melting pot the city is.

I guess a lot of factors have yet to be determined or released.

Drowning immigrants by cops:

"However, investigations have revealed that French border forces, funded by UK government treaties, have employed aggressive tactics that significantly increase the risk of drowning.  These tactics, described by experts as potential "pushbacks," include:
  • Creating waves by circling migrant boats at high speed to flood them.
  • Ramming small vessels with police speedboats.
  • Threatening passengers with pepper spray.
While the UK government has provided hundreds of millions of pounds to France for border security, and British officials have reportedly pressured French authorities to intercept boats at sea, British police do not directly engage in water-based drownings.  The fatalities are attributed to the hazardous conditions of the crossings and the aggressive interception methods used by French maritime police. " (LLM)

Is it really that bad there?
