I think, Mexico’s government considered the Treaty of Velasco as invalid since Santa Anna signed under duress as a prisoner.

Maybe Mexico has been playing the long game in warfare, flooding the borders till one day it's their land again.
Mexican food itself... is a great long game strategy. ; )

Mexico in 1830? Why not go back to 1500? If turning back the clock is allowed, just go back until there is no Mexico. That way there will be no Mexican illegal aliens.
