Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ? Have you been cleansed by His blood?

Same kinda rhetoric.
He just quoted a 7th Day Adventist in another thread.
So I'm going with that he's one of them.

The "asleep in the grave" is a laughable 'Witness' thing, I thought?

Phenomenological language.
Christian fundamentalists use it as well.
'Asleep in the grave'.
Even though the bible says just the opposite in many places.
Sirach 48:12-14 is one of my more favorite verses showing people awake and active after death.
Revelation 6:9-10 is another good one showing 'dead' people aware of what is going on ...

9And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony they had upheld. 10And they cried out in a loud voice, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You avenge our blood and judge those who dwell upon the earth?”

Noahs Ark.   In addition to being completely false, it's a massive insult to a loving Father-God whom the Christians believe in.   Why it made the cut to get into the bible .. Yeah, we done that dance back at ATS.

400ft long wood and glue TARDIS boats.

Containing two of every creature.

Built in 2300 BCE is rather questionable, to say the least.

"There are some things in the scriptures that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction."

Every religion has two kinds of adherents; those who try to achieve gnosis and cult followers. The latter outnumber the former. Hint: you're the latter.

Every post you've made in this thread screams of cult indoctrination. I read it and have this perverse vision of a sadistic Lord of annihilation who has to brainwash his devotees with repetitive messages of impending doom and gloom because they are too slow-witted to read in between the lines or understand the meaning of an allegory.

The problem is, that it can't really be tested, for various obvious reasons.

People from other religions, or no religion, can also feel deep truth and love without calling it the Holy Spirit.

Saying only one group can see the truth shuts the door on understanding other people TheWay.

And there are many ways people find meaning that don't all point to the same faith or religion.

Hi Andy, this isn't about chasing feelings or finding some sort of "meaning". It's about finding the way, the truth, and the life; Jesus Christ. It's about transitioning from death to life, from blindness to sight, from darkness to light. It's about knowing your Creator and being in an intimate relationship with Him for all eternity. It's about escaping the clutches of sin and wickedness, and learning what true love, joy, peace, kindness, self-control, goodness, gentleness, patience, and faithfulness is.

UltraBudgie, don't be deceived. There is only one way, truth and life, and that is Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.

Yes Swada, I believe those were real phenomena that could be seen and heard by everybody.

Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place. Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak. (Acts 2:1-4 WEBPB)

On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled. Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain. All of Mount Sinai smoked, because the LORD descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice. (Exodus 19:16-19 WEBPB)

From the lost gospels, there is another way, as per Jesus teachings:

"Theme 1. The first step to knowing God is to know yourself.
  1. Quote:He who has known himself has already achieved knowledge about the depth of all. ~The Book of Thomas The Contender
  2. Quote:That which you have will save you if you bring it forth from yourselves.~Gospel of Thomas
  3. Quote:Those who have come to know themselves will enjoy their possessions.~Gospel of Phillip"

"Beware that no one lead you astray, saying ‘Lo here!’ or ‘Lo there!’  For the Son of Man is within you. Follow after him! Those who seek him will find him.~The Gospel of Mary"

These other preachers, he wrote, preached another Jesus, another Spirit, another gospel which he had not preached.
He didn't want to lose control of the Church he had created, it was all about power and control. Preaching that the "good news was veiled" was his attempts at telling others they were blinded and it was about preaching "Fear" to keep the Corinthians in line.

No Kurokage, this is not isolated to Paul's day. There are still many false prophets, teachers and brethren today. Many are doing so various reasons such as being compelled to by demonic forces, pride, selfish gain, or simply being deceived. I've seen many myself both in person and online. Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, the brother of James, talks about them in detail (Jude 1:3-16):
Quote:Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For there are certain men who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into indecency, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Jesus Christ. Now I desire to remind you, though you already know this, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who didn’t believe. Angels who didn’t keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgement of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, having in the same way as these given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are shown as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. Yet in the same way, these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings. But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!” But these speak evil of whatever things they don’t know. They are destroyed in these things that they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason. Woe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah’s rebellion. These are hidden rocky reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you, shepherds who without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever. About these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgement on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” These are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts—and their mouth speaks proud things—showing respect of persons to gain advantage. (Jude 1:3-16 WEBPB)

Some are far more obvious than others. If you want to see the most obvious, here's a good video for you:
