However... 3I Atlas's path through the solar system is considered pretty unusual, it will make very close passes to multiple planets. The statistical probability of a random object intersecting with these planets is extremely rare... thus why they say it's trajectory might be by design.

It definitely appears to be a comet, but ya never know... they say it has a sunward facing comet tail, which is also unusual, because typical comet dust tails are directed away from the sun.  

I might point my telescope at it... it's pretty faint, just as a challenge to see if I can pull it in.

In the video below Loeb suggested that if 3I ATLAS does not emerge along its expected path after coming closest to the sun... which should be around October 29th, then the stock market could crash. 

Loeb wants to build an alert system ahead of time for these interstellar objects to determine if they're a rock or technological. 

Instead of spending billions of dollars searching for microbes, he suggest that the public would prefer the money be spent on searching for intelligent life.
