That isn’t evidence of ‘miles’ of tunnels. We know about the Osiris shaft and that there are other entrances, but we do not have evidence of miles of tunnels. I believe it is very likely that there are huge networks of tunnels down there, but we do not have that evidence in the public domain.
More interesting to me are the known underground cities and structures, such as those in Turkey. These suggest concerted effort to protect against something. A climactic shift. Fear of something from above. Certainly ground based troops or armies would have been able to flush people out of these quite easily, so it wasn’t that. They took years to build. It wasn’t a quick fix. However there would have to have been an overbearing imperative in the minds of those who did it to justify such labour.
