I think they do, if only because they are bleeding their population dry just as much as Ukraine, not to mention the sanctions have to hurt, if only eventually.
You have to look at it from a Russian point of view, that the disputed oblasts in the East, were shelled by Kiev and Russian was outlawed to be spoken, and local Russian speakers were beat up before any invasion by Russia began. They held referendums and voted to be part of Russia, after all the abuse.
This was essentially a civil war that in Russia's eyes, they were protecting ethnic Russians.
I am sure they see it like the Germans saw Strasbourg, they were liberating local German speakers who were being 'put down' by the French in the 40s. Same story in Silesia vs Poland and Bohemia vs Czechs. Is it correct? They probably think so.
So I am sure that in their eyes, Ukraine's actions gave away those territories long ago, so no need for territorial concession.
