It's almost as if at some point, a given date, the concept of rhetoric as a tool to 'understand' was utterly erased from the minds of citizens... but that's just crazy, right?
I have children, those children are not immune from the 'consensus' conditioning that exploits this lack of 'a considered and taught' way to interpret the difference between what you are told, versus what you observe and know. It's frightening that the older generation of "journalists" simply vanished before inspiring the next generation.
I thought it was generally basic human nature to compare 'data in' from outside sources vs 'data in' from one's own faculties/senses.
I thought it was harder work to override these innate senses with brainwashing than to follow your own senses.
