This boils down to 'the world according to who?'. Taking good ideas and bad ideas and throwing them into a blender seems to be what is passed as the scientific method when governing and science tries to meld. Morality and science have never mixed well. Combine that with political ideology and I have little doubt we will someday wipe ourselves out in our attempt to create a perfect society.
The true monsters in our history seem to have meant well and considered what they were doing as beneficial to society. The ironic concept one of the speakers mentioned in the video from the "Fabian Collectivism" thread that I find interesting, suggests that the real solution may be to eliminate the sociopaths in society, and the rest of us go on with our lives. That's a case where all the non-sociopaths become sociopaths by ridding us of sociopaths.
