Helicopter with Iranian President and Foreign Minister down
#1
The helicopter carrying the Iranian President and Foreign Minister made a “crash landing”. At least 20 rescue teams are trying to get to the helicopter, but terrain and weather are making it difficult. Their current condition is unknown.

Supposedly the IRGC is surrounding government buildings in Tehran.  Three members of a search team are missing now too.

Very intriguing set of developments.

Do we have a sense of what the “missing search team” means?

An additional crash?

Curious if this is part of something larger given the security increases in Tehran.

A volatile situation potentially.

Red Crescent is denying their team is missing now. If they are, I’d say it was most likely a ground team that had an accident in the fog. The fog is extremely thick and visibility is really bad in the area.

I have flown in helicopters in the general area (Kyrgyzstan) in the ‘90’s. MI-8’s.

Very rough and difficult terrain with not a lot of flat areas to auto-rotate into. We lost one with 15 onboard during dense fog. Very difficult time.

I feel for them and their families.

Got to ask why he needed to be summoned to the White Houe for this? What for? an abundance of caution, is something larger going on?

Just asking questions... not to mention the most important one would his death help or hinder stability in the region?

Presumably, the president was drafting a communique offering any assistance necessary to locate and retrieve those missing.

Pro-Forma.

At least, that is what I think any President would do in such an instance.

Really? So Iran is actively supporting Hezbollah Hamas and Yemen against Israel and Biden is offering assistance immediately, assistance that would be turned down, why?

Public Relations?

Go look who else is offering assistance...
