Putin has already told the world what he wants to "free" all the countries surrounding Iran. How can any other world leader make a deal with that goal?

Additionally, Ukraine must be included in any agreement or no deal.

I have read a few news reports over the past few weeks that Putin and Zelenskyy both want to end the war.

Zelenskyy knows that Trump won't be paying billions into the Ukraine economy anymore.   American taxpayers have been paying to keep the Ukraine economy from collapsing, even paying Ukraine government pensions.   That's gotta' stop.

Russia will get to keep the land that they illegally stole from Ukraine.   They'll get away with the slaughter of Ukrainian civilians that they did.   And they'll get to keep the thousands of Ukrainian children that they have kidnapped.   It'd disgusting, but that's the way it's going to go.

Russia will get that in exchange for promising not to illegally invade anyone else.   That's the 'deal' that's coming down ... betchya.

I guess we will see how it goes...I know Putin has been very adamant that there will be no negotiations until Ukraine actually has elections again and votes in a head of state. Currently their head of state has suspended elections indefinitely...

This was my prediction in the new year's prediction thread.
The only thing keeping this war ongoing was not Putin and his 'mad dash for conquering' (Hi oldcarpy and quintessentone) but rather Five Eyes MIC meddling.
Putin will keep his ill gotten gains in the eastern provinces and Zelensky will get peace and perhaps EU membership and the big corporate teat he always wanted; Monsanto, Big Pharma and disgustingness.

This is another way of saying that Putin wants regime change in Ukraine.  Well of course he does.  He wants to put in a puppet he can control like in the good old days.  Trump will probably give it to him.

I don't see how he would accomplish that in the current climate...but at least it would be a leader elected by the people...not one who's been holding onto power like a tin pot dictator would. I don't doubt Russia would like to install another friendly government there, but I think that ship has sailed forever...at least for the part of Ukraine that is still Ukraine. We should have never gotten involved in Ukraine backing and probably funding/planning their color revolution in the first place...it appears to have been an extremely expensive experiment that is failing in slow motion.

Having been bitten by the conspiracy bug, I am compelled to add... could it have been intended to "fail" all along?

Think of it as a giant money funnel.

Who wins now?

(Sorry... I do mean to agree.)

That's kind of how I am seeing it. There is no way the top folks approving any of this are dumb enough to believe this was gonna work. But they also aren't dumb people...so there had to be something else that would be sucessful and worth the cost. All I see is self enrichment off the taxpayer...which is par for the course anyway here in the US...this is just larger scale than normal.

I mean they also say maybe to draw down Russian stocks...but so far they are sending mostly old equipment to most troops...and testing and developing whole new lines of modern stuff with the same kinda testing grounds we had in the middle east...except they are fighting a real army with modern day weapons too...so a bit better lab than we had.

I don't see the benefit...aside from some folks getting personally enriched. Between that and the sensless loss of innocent life on both sides I don't see a win...which is why I have been aginst this from day 1.
