So this trans chick I use to bully in high school (neither of us were out at the time) didnt end up shooting up the schools we went to and I know she has access to firearms...
There were much more likely people to shoot up the school than either of us.
My point is that transfolk are bullied even by other transfolk and to get to that point where one does shoot up a school for being bullied; it is a red flag there is something else going on.
I was not here.

In my haste to condemn I forgot about the context. I'm surprised at myself too.

I want to point out that I posted this because my daughter teaches in the PNW wasnt even aware of the trans angle
And at first was thinking Vancouver BC, right across the border not some rural remote area, well north
My daughter teaches special-needs kids. She loves her kids.
We've had this discussion more than a few times, and we have discussed different scenarios
They do have protocols to block the door
She will fight to protect every one of her kids.
There is no quick evacuation for special needs kids,
She will die before letting an intruder into her classroom.
No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Quote:"Chesticle" is a slang term, often used in plural as "chesticles," referring to female breasts or, occasionally, to well-defined male pectoral muscles. The term is a colloquial blend of "chest" and "testicle". It is sometimes used in the context of fitness or, informally, to describe the chest area.

There are continuing mental health and drug use issues and underfunding for indigenous peoples with access to guns (for hunting) throughout Canada. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for young people growing up with any sort of disability or questioning their gender within their culture which is suffering, still, from generational trauma from being forced into residential schools by government.
------
" Tumbler Ridge, BC faces significant mental health challenges among its Indigenous population, rooted in historical trauma, systemic inequities, and social determinants. According to the BC Community Health Data (2016), 18.1% of Tumbler Ridge’s population identifies as having Aboriginal heritage, highlighting a substantial Indigenous presence. However, Indigenous residents often experience barriers to accessing culturally safe and effective mental health care due to systemic discrimination, stigma, and a legacy of colonial policies such as residential schools.
Indigenous-specific mental health concerns in Tumbler Ridge and similar communities include high rates of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance use disorders, and chronic pain, often exacerbated by poverty, unstable housing, and intergenerational trauma. A 2023 qualitative study found that Indigenous individuals frequently encounter discrimination in healthcare settings, including being denied pain medication due to assumptions about drug addiction, which contributes to fear, alienation, and delayed care." So the alleged shooter is a trans indigenous person...
I could be wrong, pictures Im seeing they look OVERTLY caucasian... reading more about it, Tumblers Ridge is a 70% conservative area, thats a more likely flashpoint than indigenous mental health access
Quote:Police know who carried out Tuesday's massacre at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. They're just not saying.
Ten people are dead and 27 injured after an attack that tore through this remote British Columbia high school, leaving a tight-knit mountain community of 2,400 trying to make sense of the unspeakable. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have identified the person responsible but are refusing to release a name, citing privacy concerns and an active investigation.
That hasn't stopped family members from speaking out. Russell G. Strang told Juno News his nephew Jesse Strang, 18, was transgender and responsible for the shooting. A YouTube account believed to belong to Jesse displays the transgender flag and uses she/her pronouns. RCMP haven't confirmed any of this
