Shoot a gun in America as a Brit and see what happens

Not true! There are certain predilections shared by British and American elites...

Let's ask AI!
  • Preference for private education (elite boarding/day schools, prep schools, and selective universities)
  • Socializing in exclusive networks (clubs, societies, and alumni associations)
  • Accent and speech markers that signal status (received/pronounced diction, conservative or “posh” registers)
  • Conservatism in dress (tailored suits, classic brands, understated luxury)
  • Investment in country estates, second homes, or city pied-à-terre
  • Interest in traditional pastimes (equestrian sports, hunting/shooting, polo)
  • Patronage of the arts (opera, classical music, gallery memberships, philanthropy)
  • Reliance on elite media and specialized press (financial papers, highbrow magazines)
  • Preference for private healthcare or premium insurance options
  • Social conservatism or managerial technocracy in politics (emphasis on stability, order, institutional continuity)
  • Networking through exclusive institutions (think tanks, private clubs, policy forums)
  • Emphasis on legacy and family lineage (titles, surnames, genealogies)
  • Taste for fine dining and wine, with membership in selective restaurants and wine societies
  • Investment-focused financial behavior (wealth preservation, trusts, family offices)
  • Hiring domestic staff or using concierge services for time management
  • Travel preferences for privacy and status (private jets, luxury resorts, discrete villas)
  • Use of educational and cultural credentials as social capital (Oxbridge/Ivy, prestigious fellowships)
  • Skepticism toward populist rhetoric; preference for technocratic solutions
  • Philanthropy used for influence (endowments, boards, naming rights)
  • Recruitment from a narrow social pool into senior roles (informal hiring through networks, internships that favor insiders)

Hmm, I can't help but feel it missed something...

Money and power spring to mind.

Our respective nations certainly have those in common.

Well, that and the fact that rather a few Scots, English, Irish, and Welsh have ancestors all over the continental United States.

A lot of whom helped build and shape the place for the better or worse of the matter.

Our nations are entwined, and that should never change.

You should pay attention.

Maybe it's you who should be paying attention. The case is linked to other incidents and not just the pics.

I'm unable to open the link that Bastion posted. Is it about the same guy that is in the gun story? From the ensuing conversations it seems there are 2 different people being discussed.

As far as other linked incidents regarding the gun story guy, I've posted everything I could find. The "stalking" case was from a photo of the mans associate delivering a notice to pay to a deadbeat customer.

Keep up

Again as you seem to want to insult, yet admit you can't read the link, maybe you should reel that neck in?

The guy who posted the pics, made the claims that it's a 'deadbeat' customer, but if you just want to believe the guy and not read the rest of the story that's up you. Everything else aside. He's in dispute with someone over work and posts a pic of his house and pics of guns?

 No No

Thank you Andy, different guy from the gun story as I surmised.

No problem Moon68.

I would suggest, however, there is also a lot more to the story of the fella rambling about how he got tin-pailed for mealy gun pics.

They will have been a contributing factor as to why the Police attended.

But not the only reason for the arrest.

Which appears to have been more about the social-media posts being potentially threatening.

It would have been nice to be a fly on the wall, put it that way.  Saint2

Indeed. When I heard of the stalking charge I knew I needed to dig deeper. Seems to me the gun photos were an easy excuse to get the UK police to start hounding the guy that was trying to get his due payment.

I have yet to insult you one single iota so there's no reason to reel anything in.

I've read multiple stories regarding the guy I was talking about (you know, the subject of this thread) to get as complete a picture as possible.

The house photo was of an associate delivering another demand for payment (from everything I've read).

It's not uncommon for deadbeat losers to try and sic the police on someone they have a dispute with. I know because it's happened to me.

I had nothing to say regarding Bastions post as it wasn't relevant to the discussion at hand, nor did it establish any:

per you.
