She has written a very challenging book for mainstream theoretical physics.
https://pubs.aip.org/aapt/ajp/article/87...ics-Astray

And is in general more a critical person apparently but I totally like that.

Quote:The central strand of Lost in Math is an argument that (some) theoretical physicists and philosophers of science have lost the track of where science ends and philosophy begins. This is potentially damaging. This is not to say that physicists ought not value philosophy, do philosophy, or engage with philosophers. In fact, we theoretical physicists could use philosophers' help in thoroughly understanding the subtle boundary between philosophical assumptions, mathematics, and scientific reasoning at the foundations of physics. Hossenfelder argues that one mechanism by which (some) physicists' delusions developed is through the mathematical formalization of aesthetic ideals over the past several decades. Particular ideals of beauty have become entrenched and even elevated in some circles to constituting solid scientific criteria—able to justify rather than merely to guide scientific work, even in the absence of observational evidence.

Basically: if the maths is beautiful enough your theory will be accepted even if it is per se unscientific because you can't confirm or disprove it via experiments.

HORIZON – A LOVE STORY (I write one page stories)

HORIZON – A LOVE STORY

Have you ever looked out, over a landscape or body of water, losing yourself in the horizon?  Does it draw you to it like a gateway to a magical realm?  Perhaps it is the thoughts and feelings of other lost souls calling you to join them.

He stood there, on the shore, just on the rise of the sand where the waves of the ocean reached up, but didn’t yet touch at this time of day.

He wore rumpled cargo shorts, and a plaid shirt, only partially buttoned, letting the lower part of his shirt flap in the breeze.  He was well built and tan.  His hair was brownish, but streaked by the sun – telling tales that he came out here often.

His gaze is transfixed on that far-away place at the edge of the world, where dreams meet lost dreams, along with dreams that could have been, but never became.

Is it coincidence that two damaged souls stand on the same shore, at the same time, a short distance apart, both gazing out at the same horizon?

She stood back a ways, very much aware of his manly presence, yet lost in her own thoughts of a life, well planned -- gone astray.  She wonders if his and her thoughts, feelings, and pain will find each other, out there – out there, in the magic.  She believes in the magic.

Does he feel it?  Does he sense it?  So many have stood, as he stands now, letting their emotions of love, fear, disappointment, and loneliness drift over time and space to the far off horizon.

They that came, before, experienced the magic in their time by its enchantment.  Now it’s our time, we must recognize it, embrace it, learn from it, use it in moving forward - - to keep the magic alive.

I shift my gaze from the horizon to where he stands.  My fear of rejection attempts to climb its way to the surface, but the magic is stronger.  I take a step forward in his direction.  I still feel hesitant, but I keep going.

I pick up a shell from the sand.  As I am a writer, I always carry writing material with me.  I take out a sharpie.  I write my name and phone number on the shell.

I’m now standing beside him, both of us focused on the horizon.

I say to him: “Do you think they’re out there, our thoughts, our desires, our pain?  Do you think they find each other in the magic of the horizon?

He turns, looks soulfully into my eyes, as I intently meet his.

I reach down taking hold of his hand, placing the shell into it.

Looking back into his eyes I say: “Believe in the magic”.

Then I turn and walk away, believing with all my heart, the magic will follow.

  Fun With Nostradamus
Posted by: IdeomotorPrisoner - 11-19-2023, 10:52 PM - Forum: Predictions & Prophecies - Replies (9)

For this thread I will demonstrating the you can apply a Nostradamus prophecy as broadly as a horoscope.

Regardless of why he truly wrote them. Whether inquisition commentary or not, a prophet he is not. Makes me want to stare at bowl of water and fake channel a bunch of vague bullshit too.

So I picked some of the most used ones, and a few others, to tear apart.

Quote:From the depths of the West of Europe, a young child will be born of poor people, he who by his tongue will seduce a great troop; his fame will increase towards the realm of the East.

Oh my God it's totally Hister, I mean Hitler!  I feel calling Eastern Austria Western Europe is like calling Memphis Western US.

And tons of silver tongue leaders were born poor. It's part of the whole will to power thing that propels them.  But Mussolini fits this WAY better.

And pretty much an leader born poor, West of Fucking, Austria (actual former City name, also testing T/C and censors) could be proclaimed this seducer.

Quote:The sudden death of the leading man will cause change, making another man leader. Soon, but too late, the young man will attain high office. By land and sea, he will be feared.

There are literally two examples from the USA in a span of 20 years.  Not to mention all the other times a war leader died.

But Both Truman and Johnson fit this quatrain. Truman maybe a bit more than Johnson.

Obviously nostradamus couldn't envision The Enola Gay either. I guess his bowl of water never saw air combat.

Maybe a little...

Quote:The scourges passed the world shrinks,
For a long time peace and populated lands:
One will travel safely by air, land, sea and wave,
Then the wars stirred up anew.

What is wave travel and how is that different than sea?

Still, when can you not apply this, assuming it is learned what the hell wave travel is. Are we teleporting, and why didn't we write it down if you saw a fantastic new way of travel, Mr. Nostradamus?

Quote:They will think they have seen the Sun at night
When they will see the pig half-man:
Noise, song, battle, fighting in the sky perceived,
And one will hear brute beasts talking.

Manbearpig? Is it actually a prophecy.

This one must have been one of the more absinthe induced ones because the hell is he on about?

Obviously, he foresaw Operation Bluebeam!

I want to try to apply this but obviously dude was tripping.

Quote:At forty-five degrees, the sky will burn. Fire to approach the great new city; in an instant, a great scattered flame will leap up, when one will want to get evidence from the Normans.

Oh noes! 9/11 happened in Central France, where the goddamn Normans actually were.

The Great new city is Paris in Mr. Prophet's mind, which is actually at 45° latitude. It was a middle age destination city. A real hub for immigrants. It exploded in his time.

But no, he saw towers burning in New York...

Perhaps is was ANY of the middle aged European city within a degree of 45 that had a fire once.

The Great fire of...  And literally insert almost ANY middle aged or older European city. Presto Inferno.

Much better than New York at 41° latitude.

Hi!  Duh
I was Wavelength on ATS, some of you may know me from my UFO research posts. They were so much fun to discuss with the ATS crowd. I hope we'll all be able to have some similarly enjoyable discussions here in the future. :)

I feel like I found my way to ATS way too late. Beer

And I have to agree with TDDA, someone washed the smileys with too-hot water, they seem to have lost their color. Lol

If you want to go to Thailand, this video is a worth of watch

If I have the means to go there next year ( I intend to cycle ) I've been searching about Thailand and just started with one video of learning the Thai language. As a cyclist, there are many foreigners that have toured Thailand on a bicycle and of course I would like to be one also. Cycling and camping is not only my hobby, but in all honesty, it is my current life style.
Here is one of many videos about Thailand.

  Top 5 Cover-ups?
Posted by: IdeomotorPrisoner - 11-19-2023, 02:46 AM - Forum: Black Projects & Coverups - Replies (2)

Let's get this going.

I'm not so much of a damn skeptic I think every cover story is true. There have been tons over the years that have actually happened.

What are your top 5 cover-ups of all time, including now declassified and proven ones.

Here are mine, with thoughts.

5. 1952 Washington DC UFO Incident.

Was there where they came up with swamp gas reflecting off Venus. If that happened today it wouldn't be so easy to gaslight everyone about.

Aliens or soviets?

Just don't give me radar anomalies and optical illusions.

4. Roswell.

No one cares that much about a high altitude spy balloon, or whatever they say it was.

I have always wondered how ANYONE could confuse a mylar balloon with a craft. Even a suspended spy payload would be recognizable as jumbled camera and audio recording parts.

3. Covid's Origin

It took the former host of THE MOST LIBERAL SHOW EVER to finally get everyone to Blame China.

China bugs me. Deployed biological warfare. Spayed Wuhan, and tried to capitalize on a global pandemic while propping up their Ponzi growth economy.

The CCP seems to be missing a "C" in their acronym.

2. TWA Flight 800

It was 1996.  I remember watching the news. Everyone  had the same eyewitness account. Rocket then explosion.  But they assured me it was a frayed wire in the center fuel tank.

Always seemed like covering the Navy's ass.

1. Kennedy

Lee Harvey and the guy on the bridge.  Several stationed if the shot from behind failed to do it.

I speculate he either pissedoff the Federal Reserve or The Military Industrial Complex. Kennedy wasn't on board with Vietnam and The Fed, two really good reasons to make Eisenhower's warning prophetic.

This will be the next big thing in the conspiracy community. Watch as we become the same thing that we talk about.

Oh, I guess this is an introduction thread. Ok, then I have been studying the whole Shadow Person Phenomena since the mid 1990s. I have thousands of cases to pull from when it comes to discussing sightings. No, I won't just throw out cases unless I can get the people involved to give me permission to openly discuss specifics or post their pictures. I will discuss evidence and basic stories that are pulled from those cases I have on file.

As an example, if a person tells me that a shadow person has been roaming around their house and has moved thing about. I'll discuss how shadow people have interacted with items within a home. My personal approach to shadow people is that they do in fact exists, but not every case is a genuine shadow person. I also don't just toss around nonsense about demons or other evil spirts.

I also have been a field investigator for MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) for just over a decade. I no longer am part of that organization. I also have a library full of occult and odd history books (like a literal library in my home. I turned a den into a library complete with a Dewey Decimal card catalog)

I'm also into geo-politics, so even though I won't get into my politics over global events, I might be prone into discussing world events from a different perspective then some. Guess that's about it.

Hi I used to use this name…I like to write things that make no sense. I lived in Santa Monica for 18 years and now I am back to Michigan where I was born.

I love the seasons here. Right now the peak of the tree change is over and the leafs are all over the ground. I love burning them, the smell is amazing.

I work out for 1.5 hours every night. Watching out for space invaders at the gym is important. My work I will keep private!

There is now such thing as New World Order
Posted by: music is magic - 11-18-2023, 10:51 PM - Forum: New World Order - Replies (18)

I actually say this with confidence. It's a journey of the minds that think their twisted minds can make a New World Order.  First of all, this meaning is so far fetched from reality, that the meaning should be labeled as " a lie, not misinformation".
People around the world can't even control their neighbor's habits of having their laundry hang out- doors. It's really sick, but true. We as the older generation always hung our laundry out doors or hung them up in the laundry room or even in the basement.
NEW WORLD ORDER IS TOTAL BULL CRAP

How To Change Your Avatar, Mini Profile Background Color, & Background Image
Posted by: theshadowknows - 11-18-2023, 09:27 PM - Forum: Freshman Forum - Replies (39)

First, if you want to use a background image with a transparent avatar, you'll have to use a transparent png or gif for an avatar. I've supplied a 1:1 version of that here in 150x150px.

Then you'll want to select Change Avatar in the header menu drop-down.
Current avatar dimension settings are 150x300 with a size limit of 75 KB

Once you've changed your avatar, now it's time to edit our mini profile by again selecting the option from the header drop-down.

From there, you can either enter a hex code for a background color or the url to an image you'd like to use as your background.
Approximately 200px width. You needn't make them as long as you needed to on ATS as the profile will only extend as far as your avatar height will allow. That should simplify things a lot.

Save and you should be good to go! Any issues or questions, feel free to reply here.

Even before I cared about high winds wreaking havoc on on my area, I heard about the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and the Gales of November.

So, when I saw this article, I wanted to see why the Great Lakes have such high winds....often in the Spring and usually in November.
Oddly enough, so far this November things have been relatively calm on the wind front.

The Journey

In 2016 I landed on a new ship after I lost something that was important to me. I drifted out to a deep sea of pain and sadness. I started fishing off my ship without a reel. Nothing was caught, just time and hope we’re lost.

I cried everyday knowing that I lost my friends and I tried to take my life by drinking to myself into a coma for many years.

I finally found new hope and life! My old life in LA had been deleted. My heart was fixed this year. Hope slowly came back. I learned many lessons, lessons in life and lessons on how to quit doing bad things!

I started a new life with a new JJ company. Life can move past sorrows into better times…

I mean most of it around here is pretty self-explanatory, but what I don't get is how to add pictures? Because the button only say URL? I don't get it?

Or why my post turns black when I click on source?

What is the rating for?

I mean will it influence anything or is it just for me to feel good because I rated someone?

I guess more people will have more questions once things start moving. But it'll be okay.

Going to drive people nuts posting only in comic sans from now on. Some say it is the most irritating font.
