I don't see US oil companies making any quick moves into Venezuela.

"“Globally, energy companies make investment decisions based on stability, the rule of law, market forces, and long-term operational considerations,” the statement said.
A ConocoPhillips spokesperson gave a similar response, according to media reports, saying the company “is monitoring developments”, but that it would be “premature to speculate on any future business activities or investments.”

Experts told PolitiFact that there is ample reason for caution about a surge of new private investment in Venezuelan oil infrastructure. While Venezuela’s oil reserves are the world’s largest, obstacles include the high up-front costs for building infrastructure, limited profit potential amid today’s low oil prices and continuing concerns about political stability."

"Venezuela’s political situation remains unsettled. “Not many companies are going to rush to go into an environment where there’s not stability,” Ali Moshiri, who headed Chevron’s operations in Venezuela until 2017 and now runs a private oil company with interests there, told The New York Times."

Because Venezuela’s primary markets are to countries like China or Russia under sanctions or ignore sanctions.

Something will have to change in Venezuela where they let their own refined oil output?  Drop from 3 millions barrels a day to 1 million through neglect.

I wonder if their reserve estimates are correct or not. I wonder if China and Russia will be looking to get their oil somewhere else.

I think Russia keeps getting their refineries attacked.  And China is just an energy hog that if they want to keep their stuff cheap needs cheap energy or they lose part of their economic model.
Another interesting take from Col. Macgregor. He says, "disappointing".

Venezuela acting President talking out of both sides of her mouth.

It has already cost the US a lot of money, and will cost a lot more money.

What does pro-American mean, asks the Colonel.

Punish Venezuela for it's pro-Palestinian posture?

Hezbollah has a presence in Northern Mexico and for some reason that doesn't come up very much.

Can U.S. afford to pay everyone off in other S.A. countries like they did in Venezuela?

Will Venezuela oil pay for everything? Same thing asked of Iraq, and it did not pay for everything.

Go after minerals there but it's in that country's interior, no road structures, no mining infrastructure.

Billionaire donors will make sure they get any profits which may actually take decades to see any profits and, of course, the people of Venezuela will see no benefits.

It’s an always with a couple of these posters.   Topic is maduro and they want to talk about grocery prices and other misc gibberish or anything to scream orange man bad.  The joke is they don’t even live here but think they’re some renown US political analyst.  The off topic post from them has gotten ridiculous.   They derail every single thread they’re on.

One of the best if not the best USA military operations in my lifetime. Its amazing they could pull this off. IRANS on the ropes [water] and so is Cuba [politics] . Its also interesting to see that Cuba operates the Drug Cartel transportation highway for Russia, China and Iran via South America.
