Sure.
But I am answering your question. You asked who will be in charge. I"m thinking it has to be someone popular with the people there to make this 'palatable'. The best choice for that is whoever actually won the last election (Can't remember who that is). That person would be acceptable to the people AND would still be a puppet to the American government because they would be 'in debt' to it for putting them in office.

The thing is, was Trump not rather miffed/peeved about Machado taking the Nobel Peace Prize as opposed to himself?
I mean shes clearly the ideological choice and aligns with his stance.
And would appear to be a natural U.S. partner.

Her name is "María Corina Machado."
The same person who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2025.
Problem being a lot of Venezuelans seem to have an overall unfavorable view of her.
Guess time will tell.

Ah. Thanks. I've seen her talk on TV.
Didn't realize she was the one who won the election.
She talked up Donald Trump.
So she'd be the perfect person for the job as far as the USA is concerned.
Popular with the people, and beholding to the US government.
Makes sense that she'd be put in office.
But Trump is sexist ... so he may skirt her and go for a guy ...
If so, he's gotta' be popular in Venezuela too ...

She appears to be popular among parts of the opposition, but by the looks of it shes not broadly supported by most Venezuelans nationwide.

I think it was all a big plan.. Trump boast and comment on being the clear favorite in a brash style, means who ever won was going to get a lot of publicity and focus.
At that stage, the plan to hit/tackle Maduro was already in motion, so they did line up timeline wise.

Makes a modicum of sense.

She won the Venezuelan opposition primary in 2023, not a general election of the whole country.
Essentially, the opposition's vote, not the country's vote.

OHHHHH. Okay. I was thinking something totally different. That explains it. Thanks.
