Your image didn't upload properly.
Azure is associated with a blue sky and relaxing blue waves. I'd say you got the better of the two.
I never thought about what color state I live in. If I look at my color choices for clothing it's all colors. If I look at how I decorate my surroundings, it's bluish gray/green/mustard/beige. I can't pinpoint one color.

blue is cheap
merlot is average
red is expensive

Are they saying we are spending $11k a year more now/2023 vs in 2021?
I am not seeing that at all!
I am in one of the red states. Like most of them. lol I think we are probably paying at worst $4k more a year actual spending. Some math is weird somewhere

The typical American household must spend an additional $11,434 annually just to maintain the same standard of living they enjoyed in January of 2021, right before inflation soared to 40-year highs, according to a recent analysis of government data.Such figures underscore the financial squeeze many families continue to face even as the the rate of U.S. inflation recedes and the economy by many measures remains strong, with the jobless rate at a two-decade low. The analysis, from Republican members of the U.S. Senate Joint Economic Committee, taps government data such as the Consumer Price Index and Consumer Expenditure Survey to examine the impact of inflation state by state.
Even so, many Americans say they aren't feeling those gains, and this fall more people reported struggling financially than they did prior to the pandemic, according to CBS News polling. Inflation is the main reason Americans express pessimism about economy despite its bright points, which also include stronger wage gains in recent years.

I don't know but when I was driving back and forth to work and gasoline prices spiked over 3.50-4 bucks I was almost 370 bucks a month in gasoline alone. Groceries went up to, LOL a Big Mac was 2-3 bucks just a few years ago now it's 5 bucks and change.
Depending on how much you consume,
For me back then pre 2012 it was a family of 4 plus 2 dogs and a cat. That was 4 vehicles and the daily feeding of 6 living beings, it added up quickly. Damn I can't remember the beauty supply place my wife and daughters went to but they were there about every 2-3 weeks

I think my cost of living increase totalled about the high end of this, and 50% of that was a rent increase. Up about 700/month. It may have hit us lowly renters hardest.
* This can be offset by illegal subletting.
Quote:1. San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA $3,811
2. San Diego-Chula Vista-Carlsbad, CA $3,228
3. San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, CA $3,183
4. Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA
$2,848
5. Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, CA
$2,812
Food increased about 200 in that time.
Gas/Electric about 75
Auto-related increases about 400.
Total about 1,375 in increases. Which is actually about a 25% increase overall. Or around $16,500.
Morning math sucks. I think it's right now.

I think we are very simple compared to most households. It is just the wife and I and a little kitty.
We only eat out once a week total, Friday dinner take-out.
I personally only go out for fun as in spending money, like 2 x a month max, arcade bar and if we are going to a concert or a movie or a social dinner. Usually it's 'out' once a month. When I need to get out of the house alone its mostly drumming in my music space.
We cook every night other than Friday, and have no subscriptions.
Our entertainment is books/CDs/dvd blurays which are cheap.
On weekends we hike . Its not hard to save money
Where we get the unexpected cost is in car repair or medical bills which may pop up.
I get also that gas goes up but we don't drive as a job or have to run errands more than once a week so I am not seeing where that report got such a huge increase.
I hope I continue to not 'see' it.
