US citizen, 67, ‘has ribs broken’ by Border Patrol agents
(10-30-2025, 10:40 AM)SomeStupidName Wrote: So you agree, be polite and they will be polite. I disagree that the individual whom received the broken ribs was being polite thus he got dragged from the car which resulted in broken ribs.

That's what is suppose to happen, yes.

I just find it amusing a shit load of tactical officers are needed to arrest and subdue a small 67 year old, who appears to have committed no crime?

The people at the scene claimed he'd just arrived and was dragged from his car by said gang of thugs. Is that the police being polite to a by-stander and de-escalating a situation?

The tactical officers where already there for other reason2 not the 67 whom came upon the scene mid operation.

yeah ... and the reason the term is used for that is because of the Nazis.
They are the original 'brown shirts' and when people say that term, that's
the reference.  It goes back to the Nazis and that's the only reason the
term is used ... if you call people 'brownshirts' then you are saying they are
like the nazi stormtroopers.

You didn't know that ... so I"m giving you a pass on it.

AI google assist - ""Brownshirts" can refer to two things: historically, the SA (Sturmabteilung) militia of the Nazi Party, named for their brown uniforms. More recently, in slang, it can refer to a less pure form of heroin that has turned brownish"

Who said??
Quote:The term "Brownshirts" refers to the Sturmabteilung (SA), a paramilitary group in Nazi Germany known for its violent intimidation tactics. They were primarily responsible for disrupting political opponents, particularly communists and social democrats, and enforcing ideological conformity through fear.

If I wanted to infer Nazis, I would have said 'Nazi'

Exactly, he wasn't the target. Yet he got dragged out of a car wrestled to the ground and had his ribs broken for what some say was trying to get onto his property.

You did infer Nazi.
But you did so without knowing you did.
The Nazi stormtroopers were the original brown shirts.
So when people call cops 'brown shirts', they are saying they are like the Nazi stormtroopers.

You did when you said "Brown shirts" they are synonyms.

Would you have preferred I used 'Black shirts' instead? Both were groups who used aggressive tactics to frighten and attack civilians.

Not all civilians just those that cross the line from law abiding to criminal act, and criminals should fear law enforcement and repercussions like broken ribs, As a citizen you have a duty to respect and uphold the laws of your nation and if you think they are in error you use the correct tools aka elected officials to change those laws. as grown adults we all need to take accountability in participating in our society in a peaceful and lawful manner the goal isn't to see how much illegal shit you can get away with until your ribs get broken for being a shithead.

I'm stating that the term 'brown shirts' is a Nazi reference and reductio ad hitlerum.
ICE doesn't equate to Nazi stormtroopers.   They simply don't.
Nazi and Hitler references automatically lose a discussion.
BTW ... Ice isn't attacking civilians, the civilians interfere with them first, which is against the law.
Ice is enforcing the law.   The civilians interfering with them are breaking the law.
It's just that simple.
