And just like that, he's drained the swamp to put in a nuclear waste dump.

Its because the premise is so flawed. 

"Whose going to save us from the entrenched corrupt elites that control society?  I know! How about a manor-born Wall Street tycoon turned cult of celebrity!? He'll save us from the elites!" 

Silver tongue and all.  Just stardards of eloquence for that have slipped. 

But there once was a continuum of bipartisan sameness from one president to the next. Things that dont really change much. This is why Iran was allowed to be Iran for 47 years. The swamp WAS the former status quo to keep their wrist always slapped with little more to detour them..

The draining of the swamp is epitomized by Trump being the bullheaded iconoclast saying, "Fuck that. Does The Don need to choke an Ayatollah Bitch?" 

And his hubris is convinced his precedessors conflict aversion was unfounded. They were just too globalist and diplomacy driven to have the vision..

 I hope this is another time when Trump pulls something insane and it all magically somehow works out like the universe is giving the world an offramp in spite of him.

Its a "new era forest fire" churning the chaos. A scab to peel and breath new skin. And I think Trumps role in that is subjectively evident. 

He knew it was going full scale all along. Finally I understand his all over the map lack of consistency as them circuitously working us around to the eventual plan - that absolutely includes a ground war. 

There is a best case scenario which can still happen. Not sure how high of a minimal chance it has but...

Iran can be uninfluencial in jihad, Saudi Arabia can be talking to Israel, and cooler heads and gulf influence could secure a peaceful Palestine and end this godforsaken shit show once and for all. 

Something so massive and game changing could only happen with a fire. And for that, Trump's karmic role is established.

Yet I probably  would agree with you on the issue of borders and tarrifs.

I think trump has gone at them cack handed and incompetently but the general agreement  with you on the issues is there.
If you want something  I agree with Trump on? I think the travel bans on certain  countries,  especially  the ones prone to Islamic extremism  were good moves.

Having a tougher line on China is also a good thing.

Making NATO countries  increase  their mmilitary  spending other. I wouldn't leave NATO, but I would go one step further than what has already  been done and say any country that doesnt reach  3% by end of the year and 4 % in 5 years isnt protected.
