Trump 'authorizing Full Force, if necessary' as military deploys to another US city

Since this is on topic.

When I got on this thread I thought the choice of Portland was odd.  Haven't heard much coming out of there to mean it's 'out of control' and needs federal intervention.   Then a few folks with experience in Portland came on and said it's a mess and there are out of control attacks and that it does need federal intervention.   So I don't know ... maybe it does?   At any rate, if the feds go in they'll be out in a couple of weeks just like everywhere else.    Some people are getting uptight thinking Trump is trying to take over the country with the military, but I'm not seeing it.  He wouldn't know how and he hasn't got the power.   This is a stretching of muscles by the feds and the Democrats are uptight because it's a Republican doing it.   I don't see it going anywhere.  Not with Trump.   Maybe someone smarter could make a go of it.  But him?  Nah.

"Comparison with Other Polling FirmsGallup Poll is often compared to other polling agencies like Pew Research, Rasmussen, and Quinnipiac. Here’s how it stacks up:
  • Pew Research: Considered more in-depth, especially for social and demographic studies.
  • Rasmussen Reports: Known for political polling but sometimes criticized for favoring conservative opinions.
  • Quinnipiac University Poll: Provides detailed political polling but has a smaller sample size compared to Gallup.
Despite some competition, Gallup remains one of the most trusted sources for polling due to its historical credibility."

Polls in and of themselves are flawed. You can get any poll to say whatever you want, depending on where you take it. They survey about 1500 out of 330 million. If I wanted pro ICE opinions, I'd take a poll here in Kentucky and get a favorable outcome. If I took it in California it would be exactly the opposite. Just remember, some of those same research groups said Hillary had a 96% chance of beating Trump.

This isn’t hard or political.
The Guard has been deployed to red and blue areas due to where the biggest problems are occurring.
If the Guard is being deployed to say Martha’s Vineyard, then you might have cause to knot up them panties.

Portland has a giant problem with antifa and left wing violence and it’s not disputable.

My 'panties' are just fine thanks.

How many time has the national guard been called in by the state, and how many time has the government 'forced' their way in? I bet all those that force to 'receive' the national guard aren't republican?!?!

Surely that tells you that the government has made it political, rather than using it as a point to show the democratic states that they voted for the wrong candidate, instead showing the democrats exactly what they feared? An over reaching Trump intent on seizing power no matter what.

Understanding Self-Defense Against Police Officers
  1. Excessive Force: The law generally prohibits resisting arrest, but there is a narrow exception for self-defense if a police officer uses excessive force. This means that if an officer's actions cross the line from lawful force needed to make an arrest into unlawful assault, you may be justified in defending yourself.

  2. Proportional Response: If you choose to defend yourself, the force you use must be proportional to the threat posed by the officer. You can only use the amount of force necessary to stop the attack. If the officer ceases their aggressive actions, your justification for using force also ends.

  3. Legal Consequences: Engaging in self-defense against a police officer can lead to serious legal repercussions. Even if you believe you are justified, you may still face charges such as assaulting a police officer or resisting arrest. The burden of proof is on you to demonstrate that the officer's actions were unlawful and that your response was reasonable.

  4. Court Considerations: If you are charged with a crime after defending yourself, the court will consider various factors, including witness testimony and any available video evidence, to determine whether your actions were justified. The legal battle over whether your use of force was appropriate will occur after the incident, not during it."

Don't break the law, there won't be any trouble.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

True.   Hillary was supposed to win by a landslide.
And we were supposed to be with President Harris now.
Polls can say whatever the person taking them wants.
And they are notoriously wrong, no matter who takes them.

Then just look at your nation's news at the ever-growing ICE protests. No, the poll about Trump beating Hillary that I posted was spot on, for Trump to win but taking into consideration its 3+/- pt fluctuation.

Prosecutorial privilege is the ultimate determinant of "what you will be charged with."

The "what you can be charged with"seems a limitation (to prevent prosecutorial abuse? instead of 'mandating' criminal docket bloat... maybe?)

Not that there needs to be a reckoning or anything... just a thought I wanted to add...

Please educate me if I'm wrong.

Absolutely.
The right makes it political.
The left makes it political.
It's hardly ever not political.
It's all about votes and money.

... which makes polls pretty much useless.
