I blame Occupy Wall Street. The was such a potential threat to the moneyed class that they create two new social movements to protect their burgeoning plutocracy: an intolerant left-oriented race and sex-based DEI extremism, born out of the embers of successful radical feminism, driven through educational institutions that depend on rich donor money, and an intolerant right-oriented race and sex-based nationalistic ultra-american extremism, born out of the embers of the successful libertarian Ron Paul resurgence, driven through faith and political think-tanks that depend on rich donor money, and pitted them against each other, successfully turning a potential class war into an unending battle of left-vs-right, red-vs-blue, entirely occupying and containing any potential threat to their power. For all the outrageous blame casting and summoning of shibboleths, the finger of accusation now never ever points up, in any actionable way.
