How you deal with Russia is you let them think they have the upper hand.
Dealing with Zelensky is a bit more complicated as he is just a corrupt moron actor and the people finally waking up to that fact.
It’s important to acknowledge the complexities of the current situation in Ukraine.

Russia has gained control over certain territories that were previously part of Ukraine, and regaining these areas presents significant challenges for Ukraine.

This is largely because Russia possesses superior military capabilities and has a larger presence in the region at this time.

The situation could shift if NATO were to decide to commit troops, but currently, such an intervention seems unlikely.

Realistically, Russia appears to be progressing towards its initial objectives, while Ukraine finds itself in need of substantial military and financial support to maintain its current frontlines.

Understanding the realities on the ground is crucial as we navigate these geopolitical dynamics.

my understanding is that from the russian point of view those eastern provinces voted years ago to become a permanent part of the russian federation, and that there's no way they will abandon them to kiev. putin is above all a patriot and will protect them at all cost.

Do you really think that vote wasn't rigged and do you also think a 'vote' created by a foreign invader should be listened too?

It’s a possibility but there are plenty of videos showing the people in those cities named welcoming the Russians when they arrived.
Seems there is more evidence that the people favor being Russian than election hijinks.

That's not what I got from the video?? I think you've watched something different??

He clearly states that the Ukrainian Constitution answers the territorial question, and what it's people want. They will not gift Ukraine to Putin and want a dignified peace.

Ha, been alluded to that some posts are a tad bit too confrontational, and some posts have been "snipped" or outright deleted. As not to create extra work for the ever-expanding Deny Ignorance MOD team, and create a kinder and gentler experience

Why would you invite Ukraine...they've shown they aren't interested in a realistic peace...and those in power benefit greatly from all the aid coming in. They are still acting like they can make any demands...we can all see where thats getting them. If the US brokers a decent deal and get Europe on board...they can say make peace...and it will happen.
