It took me a long time to develop my palate/taste for draught stout, Guinness specifically, and that's my #1 go to when I am in the mood for a beer, which is not often.
Not this ...
"Beware the ‘Gonster,’ Social Media’s Viral Guinness-Monster Mashup"
"Sometimes called the “Billie Irish,” the improbable mix of energy drink and stout started appearing more and more frequently on social media this spring, though its true origins remain as murky as a failed attempt to execute its signature Guinness float.
As far as I can tell, this year’s earliest significant social media post on the subject matter came on St. Patrick’s Day in an Instagram reel from a U.K. convenience store. In the brief video, proprietor Amit Patel makes three different Monster and Guinness concoctions. Despite receiving over 45,000 likes to date, most of the comments have been negative."

Guinness is one of those love it or hate it beers. There is no in between. I'll take one if someone else buys it, just because it's rude to turn down a free beer, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

I think my son was stealing my Guinness when he was a teenager because somehow he developed a taste for it too. Hmm. I recall he asking to taste it once and gave the usual yuk response, or was that a decoy response?

That's misdirection. lol
When my kids were teenagers, they wanted to try alcohol, so I went out and bought some of those little bottles of tequila, whiskey, gin etc and let them taste of each. They did not enjoy it, which was my hope.
Now, none of my kids drink, but my daughter does like a glass of wine on occasion.

My dad never drinks, but every once in a blue moon he will pick up a Guinness Draught. Not sure why that is his go to, but like David said it is a love it or hate it brew.
Oddly enough, he likes a Red Stripe now and then as well....not sure what that is about. Maybe he just likes the old Red Stripe commercials hahaha

Well that was my intent, to deter him from drinking beer, but 'nope', until recently, where he gave up beer and now prefers weed. My daughter does not drink at all, she's very sober as is my partner. I prefer a wine spritzer with juice, ginger ale, fruit slices...I could go on. And once in a while, a Guinness, usually when going out to dinner at a pub.

I like a good Lager and never tried Red Stripe, but that's an American brand, right? I recall when visiting New York, Manhattan area we stopped in a bar and had a beer, it was like drinking water.
Edit to add:
Oh I looked it up, it's brewed in the UK by Heinken and Heinken beer is too bubbly for me. So 'no'.

Not to my recollection but I haven't had one in probably 10 years. Not a fan of ole Heineken either
I'll have to give one a shot and let you know.
