I think sound defies Gravity, because sound is a function of Gravity.  The Earth (ground) & Heaven is a hollow Bi-Bell pushing up against the surrounding Walls (grindstone) pushing down, creating a constant ring.

It works only over very short distances with specialised equipment.

There is no evidence that Earth is a hollow "Bi-Bell," constantly ringing.

Nor is there any evidence that tuning to a frequency makes us weightless.

As to the shape of the planet, she's an oblate spheroid, no doubt about it...

The short answer is that two opposing ultrasonic sources produce a standing wave.

The result being tiny pressure pushes and a minuscule upward force.

It's strong enough to levitate tiny objects...

But as the object gets larger, its weight increases much faster than the acoustic force.
 
Put it this way, the likes of magnetic levitation is far more practical for heavy loads.
