We raise taxes on working Americans to give the money to Somali non-profits who claim to help kids and who then give the money to a Somali political candidate who threatened to blow up a school bus full of America kids for Somalia.

Whataboutism is a tactic of deflection. I didn’t deflect, I started with acknowledging their statements on democrats were correct, just not isolated to them. I’m also not saying the allegations are baseless, there looks to be a lot of Somali fraud that should be prosecuted.

If this thread is just about dunking on one side, I’m not stopping anyone with my one remark. People are welcome to carry on.

If the topic is trying to actually root out fraud, then we need to look at all the offenders, politicians who allow and carry it out. Many here would have us believe it only happens under one party. Yet someone convicted of 1.2b in Medicare fraud was pardoned in the past few years.

Or how about the war in Iraq, which both parties voted on to the tune of trillions in fraud that is one of the drivers towards 08’ and the inflation we see ourselves in?

The Somali story will be gone in a couple of weeks, maybe sooner if the Middle East pops off again which it’s looking primed to do. And we’ll still have rampant fraud.

I noted I hope this case looks like there is smoke and fire, and they should be prosecuted. But the original comment I responded to was making it sound like fraud in this nation only comes from one political party. And while it certainly comes from that party too, it's not the sole source, or the only one that tries to hide it.

I don't sit on a fence, I'm outside both yards calling them both out. Some people don't like that, it's fine.
