There is an underlying problem that cannot be corrected by cutting calories. Doing this exposes one’s body to greater health adversity. Now the ancient texts may say a “fast” is how to fix this underlying problem. That “fast” is what I call monk mode. Oh it’s starving the underlying problem for sure. But it is foolish to think starving one self of basic nutrition is a healthy life choice.

- Fat is a buffer. It stores not only energy, but unprocessed toxins. Don't burn it too quickly, and when you do stay extra hydrated and keep your filter organs (kidney, liver, etc) happy.
- Learn hunger again. Modern food additives really mess with the sense of hunger. Get rid of things that do that, and re-learn how and when to eat. - Moderate. Learn to recognize satiation, another thing food additives mess with. Fill you stomach 1/3 food, 1/3 water, and 1/3 nothing at all. - For goodness sake avoid corn syrup entirely. - (Expert mode) Look for the "TM" symbol on the food you buy. That's means that eating any amount of it is "Too Much". - As I mentioned before, breathe. Exhaling CO2 is how weight is really lost. - If you follow the above you can ignore the "calories in, calories out" garbage.

I practice intermittent fasting the majority of my fasting is when I sleep so ill eat at say 6pm get up at 5:30am and eat sometime around 7am. My fast is usually 12-13 hours in-between days. Sometimes I won't get hungry until 6 at night again which would then be another fast. Some people fast for 24 hours and above, if you do that you need to have electrolytes to replenish the potassium you are losing at an accelerated rate. My diet consists mostly of fish and chicken, zucchini, and other vegetables. When I want something sweet I'll make something out of cream cheese it tricks my mind. Slice of ham and lettuce with some cream cheese in it. Jalapeño poppers with cream cheese wrapped in bacon. Just keep your carbs under 20. Portion control is a huge thing when I want something to eat I cut what I want in half because I know what I put on my plate is what I need to eat to stuff myself and not until I'm simply not hungry anymore which is what I should do, I still have trouble with that. Discipline and control. You can do it ^.^
This is my egg drop soup its very filling and easy to make if you guys want the recipe

We get fat in our 'older' years because our bones are more brittle and we need the extra padding for when we fall down. That way our bones don't break. Gaining some weight with age is a natural thing your body does for self protection.
That's my line and I'm sticking with it.

I am a diabetic. About a year ago i had a minor stroke, a transient ischemic attack (TIA). After that i radically changed from a person who ate garbage all day to a person who ate mostly fruits, vegetables, nuts, and small portions of lean meats. After about a month of that 2 things happened. I lost weight, and i started to feel 15 years younger. Its been a year and i am still eating this way and i have little to no self discipline. So if i can do it anybody can do it. I don't think carbs are the issue as long as they come from fruit and vegetables. There are very little calories in fruit and vegetables, and one of the issues i had early on in eating like this is that I kept losing weight. It was because I was not consuming enough calories, though i was always eating until i was full. For me, the things that put weight on me and also jack my blood glucose up for long periods of time are bread and pasta. That and junk food like cakes, candies, ice cream, etc... I don't know if this works for everyone, but try eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and 3oz of lean meats for a month. I believe you will lose weight. Just eat tons of fruit. The natural sugars in the fruits take away the cravings for the candy, potato chips, etc at least for me. Get a craving for a candy bar, go eat a handful of grapes and wait 10 minutes and it will subside. If you are diabetic, do whatever you have to do to get a continuous glucose monitor. You will get continuous feedback on what you eat and how it affects your blood glucose. For me, fruit spikes my blood glucose but then it goes back down very quickly and over the last year as i have lost weight and began to walk more and more each day my body has gotten better at managing glucose. However, I am still on insulin but gradually the dose needed gets less and less. I highly recommend the book "Mastering Diabetes". I don't follow it 100% but it has worked wonders for me. Everything i read about the KETO diet is that it is not good for your heart, cholesterol, etc... Please pay attention to that.. The other thing that happened last year was that i had to have a triple bypass from years of eating meat and dairy, McDonalds, and other unhealthy foods. As they were giving me tests for why i had the TIA event they gradually found that i had blockage in arteries feeding my heart. Luckily, they found it and everything went well, but if you can avoid open heart surgery by eating better, its worth it.

I see "fasting" as the chance for a body to use what it already has and the subconscious to take stock of the biological system. How else can we connect with and use efficiently the things we consume if we are always one step behind digesting new things? It's like a leapfrog backwards to verify things before re-commencing with more inner awareness. And three habitual square meals a day starting with breakfast (break-fast) cannot be good for everyone. We all have different lifestyles and an active hard worker is not the same as someone who is inactive. The daily routines are also different so "mealtimes" which are shared between family, friends etc, can create an inbalance in the natural dietry equilibrium for some. And fasting doesn't necessarily mean "starving" me thinks. A day here and there works for me. Still slim, have been ever since being a kid. I have been working hard this week, manual labour. 9 hour days. No breakfast, no lunch, just an evening meal. All good. I'm really curious about the breathing thing. Breads are carbs, carbs turn into sugar etc yes vegetables have virtually no carbs along with chicken eggs fish etc I prefer fish I mean jesus lookin pretty fit
All I do is i eat at 6 am and again at 6 pm and it gives me 12 hours fasting in between twice. Besides that, fish and chicken with vegetables it's really simple. Basically no breads and no soda. It doesn't even have to be all the time though I mean every Sunday or every other weekend eat as much bread as u want, screw it lol drink a gallon of soda. Your body will pass it super fast because it doesn't have that build up anymore. The problem is everyone is clogged. Also, my preference but I really feel vinegar detox me although study says it's ridiculous I feel great from vinegar in my salad or eating pickled things it feels clean. I try to stay away from beef because it makes me feel gross not so much hamburgers as other things. Mostly fish though is what I eat, lots of salmon like a bear rawr
