The hearing so far seems to be more a series of warnings and cautionary tales about what will happen should one decide to speak up. Rather than practical steps to increase disclosure and dismantle the citadel of secrecy and intimidation. As expected, I suppose.

I think that any believable initiative towards transparency must be international and multilateral. The system cannot change itself. This makes me extremely cynical about hearings like this.

A hellfire missile, actually.  

But yeah--several interesting things about that.  First, as discussed over at The War Zone, this is the first public release of the fact that the Hellfire missile is capable of intercepting airborne targets.  Normally, it's used for surface targets.  Second, the warhead didn't detonate.  Third, the missile fragments somehow got dragged along with the UFO along its flight path.  That implies that the UFO had some kind of attractive field associated with it--as in electrogravitics.
