Interesting, indeed. There is so much more to this story. Personally, I like this guy. Willing to destroy his young (and advantageous) life for this cause. Stupid and courageous (in his own mind) all at the same time.

This is a strange twist. A Minnesota man was arrested, for impersonating an FBI agent, and attempting to have Mangione released into his custody.

A Minnesota man allegedly tried to break Luigi Mangione out of jail in New York, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
Mark Anderson, 36, was charged Thursday with impersonating a federal agent after authorities said he showed up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn claiming to be an FBI agent with a court order to release Mangione, sources said.

So if that's not enough, he also had "weapons" in his bag

Anderson said he had weapons in his bag, and inside the bag was a barbecue fork and a pizza cutter, according to the criminal complaint.

It sounds like a well thought out plan. Where did he go wrong?

Frankly, I would wager this was not an 'attempt to release' anyone... Maybe I suspect it was an 'activist spectacle' complete with media. The prosecution will file the sexiest charge.. it's the theater of their craft.

If the alleged suspect is actually of a mentality to think that their preparations were "adequate" they probably need more than only legal council...
