"In the canon law of the Latin Church, the word celibacy is used specifically in the sense of being unmarried. However, for its clergy this state of being unmarried is considered to be a consequence of the obligation to be completely and perpetually continent:

Fact of the matter is, 100% of these clerics do not observe perfect continence.

If they did, then they could really claim to have performed exorcisms!

Still have no idea what you are talking about.

Catholic priests are required to be celibate.
Most keep their vows just fine.
Everyone who is catholic is supposed to not have sex outside of valid marriage.
To do so is a mortal sin.
To take Communion while in mortal sin is yet another mortal sin.
This is the rule of the church.
To preach against that rule is to engage in heresy.
It's just that simple.

You are interjecting  'little death' and 'exorcism' into a conversation that it has no place in.   And your posts are so convoluted I have no idea what you are talking about.   Your claim that 100% of priests engage in sexual activity is flat out wrong and you have zero proof of that statement.

Direct from the official catechism of the Catholic Church - https://www.catholicculture.org/culture/...ecnum=2920

Quote:1579 All the ordained ministers of the Latin Church, with the exception of permanent deacons, are normally chosen from among men of faith who live a celibate life and who intend to remain celibate "for the sake of the kingdom of heaven."[sup] 70[/sup] Called to consecrate themselves with undivided heart to the Lord and to "the affairs of the Lord,"[sup] 71[/sup] they give themselves entirely to God and to men. Celibacy is a sign of this new life to the service of which the Church's minister is consecrated; accepted with a joyous heart celibacy radiantly proclaims the Reign of God.[sup] [/sup]

And the statement from Vatican II - Presbyterorum Ordinis - saying pretty much the same thing

I am interjecting with the canon of Catholic Law that clerics should observe perfect sexual continence. 100% do not.

When you keep insisting that most clerics do observe perfect sexual continence, you are belittling the difficulty in achieving that. It is also appears you are pretending that demons do not exist. I know based on your post history that you do believe demons exist.

Observing perfect sexual continence requires the exorcism of demon(s).

1 - Prove that 100% of priests engage in sexual activity.  Good luck with that.  Your statement is dead wrong.

2 - Your claim that I belittle' difficulty in someone staying celibate' is ridiculous.  I never said anything one way or the other on that.  For some it's easy.  For some it may be difficult.  For most it's probably somewhere in between.  You assume too much in saying that it's difficult.  You project your own sexual appetite onto others and assume everyone feels as you do.  You aren't called by God to live the live of a celibate priest whereas those with a true calling to the priesthood have a different situation than you do and have a different focus in life and have a different level of grace from God to live celibate ... grace that you aren't given for your state in life.

3 - You have once again said something absurd by claiming that I 'pretend that demons do not exist'.

4 - No.  Observing celibacy does not require exorcism.   Again ... absurd.  In fact, it's beyond absurd.  Having a sexual urge is a natural physical event.  It's not demonic unless it is something like a continual temptation or something overpowering and unhealthy.  Then it's in the realm of mental health or demonic.  And exorcists will tell you that usually things are natural or mental illness, and that the demonic is more rare.

Basic Catholic stuff.  You don't understand Catholicism, theology, the spirit world, medical issues, basic human physiology, and mental health issues.

I was having a difficult time accepting you are so ignorant, but I guess you are.

Look the Latin Church / Catholic canon is clear.

Celibacy is not the goal, it is just the what perfect continence demands.

There are no clerics known of today practicing perfect continence.

Look if Pope Francis had decided, when he was 40, to observe perfect continence, he would have realized, accomplishing that would have resulted in an exorcism.

And if he had continued to observe perfect continence to the age of 88, he would not be dead now, and would have been a shining beacon of light, the change in the world he supposedly prayed for.

He clearly did not observe perfect continence. He was devoured and died a shell of a man.

What a sad state of affairs.

OK, the personal attacks stop now!

This is all very interesting, but has gone completely off topic. If you guys want to discuss theology, please start a new topic, and always remember...

Cardinal Pietro Parolin fainted in public yesterday.
An episode of high blood pressure we are told.
I"m sure the cardinals took notice of this.
They will be thinking about it ... do they want someone
with high blood pressure spikes .... which is a lead to stroke ....
sitting in the Chair of Peter?   After the heath issues with
"Francis" ... I don't think they'll go for Pietro now.
But of course that's just speculation ...
