Here's my bellwether if I should freak out its all over for us.

If  they drop the influencer charges (likely) and then charge the other two Portland residents with federal terrorism charges to make an example, then I am more concerned than id be if its just everyone making a hoopla over one side of it. 

I have a threshold for overt nepotism i think is pretty lenient.  

But that happens, I will have no choice but keep complaining and be glad I use a Gmail account for online posting in someone else's info.

I don’t mean to be repetitive, but it’s far less worrisome if these protests are primarily driven by local grassroots movements rather than orchestrated by someone sitting in New York with the Clintons as puppets. The same goes for figures like Klaus, Zuckerberg, Gates, Buffett, Ellison—virtually any billionaire should be kept at a distance.

Just look at Elon Musk: he danced around this issue for a while, but he mistakenly believed he could sway the NASA selection process. That’s not how governmental consultation works.

I firmly believe that nearly all major city governments are riddled with corruption; the only question is who the grifters are and who also benefits from the grifting.

For a billionaire inclined to do so, it would be alarmingly easy to buy enough city officials to wield colossal influence, allowing them to manipulate current laws and push through new legislation that suits their agenda.

This has been the pattern since the era of Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall, if not even earlier...
