New video shows officer's perspective in ICE shooting of Renee Good

I think its largely in your head.

I think its vitriol and propaganda to be force-focused on. I think its more fantasy than reality and other things, like income make more sense.

And that "worst of the worst" DHS crap makes by skin crawl. Just a flipbook of scapegoats to engineer goosestepping with IMO.

Only thing universal to crime is poverty in my mind. And you cant necessarily equate immigrants in a lower cost neighborhood as thevcause for the crime of that neighborhood.  They could even commit far less than the others there.

Have you ever been to Apache Junction, AZ and do you know how wonderbread and full of trailer crime problems it is?

i will never believe anything but our lack of social welfare protection and gun control is the problem with the most destructive and violent crime pockets.

Yeah... I'm that liberal....

But I get told to face the problem of crime and offered a tub of "20 million" dolls. I get a false equivalency and told that is THE ONLY answer.

Okay. But I blame: Poverty and lack of social welfare.. Guns and lack of control. And cycles of recidivism.

You can pay for food, lodging, day care, health care for them and their 10 kids. And you can move into a cardboard box on the side walk. To make more room for more of them.  Since you want them here so bad. Some one has to work and pay for it all. We won't.   Lol

I trust they will begin; ICE has demonstrated a danger to American citizens, and it is essential for them to start safeguarding themselves. They supposed to be only targeting undocumented individuals and have no justification for assaulting Americans.

You can have your vitriol and engineered blame...
Quote:In 2022

$5.4 billion was spent on "emergency services for undocumented aliens".
$5.8 billion for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
$1.43 billion for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
$13.4 billion in child tax credits for the 2021 tax year (claimed in 2022).
$8.4 billion on taxpayer-funded Medicaid health benefits (Medi-Cal) for eligible individuals regardless of immigration status in the fiscal year.
$75 million in December 2022 via the Emergency Food and Shelter Program

+

Undocumented migrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes. A significant portion of this (over $33.9 billion) went into social insurance programs like Social Security and Medicare, which they are generally barred from accessing

... I will keep my thinking you are being brainwashed to unnecessarily freak out over a net loss of 15 billion dollars. (According to easily accessible numbers).

15 billion. What is that, like 1.5% of the defense budget?

Oh yeah, their running me onto the street by their unnecessary tax allocations!

Really?

Though I did order pizza for a tired, hungry, and poor family huddled by the Alaska Airlines Bagage Claim at the airport once. Felt great to do.

But that's how i do America. It's not currently how I would do America.

"Only thing universal to crime is poverty in my mind."

this is true and not true

ever seen the crime at the top?

lol but they don't call it crime, because it isn't, because they make the laws

by no means am i saying the immigrants are the cause! if you think that you misinterpret.

at the poverty level crime congeals into criminal environment and that forms around culture, tribal lines

look my time in america i have lived in many places. some of the biggest cities i've lived in are san francisco, new york, san diego, and portland

every one i've gone back to visit and seen worse. more poverty, higher crime, more gangs

and it is because of liberal mindset: "pretend that even though their poor they won't resort to crime and group together and look for victims, just love them more and try and be understanding and give them free cookies and everything will become okay"

it is the "evil communist left poison" that creates entitlement, stifles excellence, creates ghettos and traps of poverty where if you try to lift out and legally earn too much you lose your free secion 8 housing and ebt gibs.

the underground economy to live above the povery median become illegal enterprise, and it corrupts the local governments, creating pandering politicians who need the block votes to stay in power and are quite happy to just let it happen. there become places you simply don't go at certain times, if you look like you can be tagged as easy prey.

local and state governments that become dependent on the cycle of poverty and illegality and won't change it.

the fact is, if trump could send in the national guard to take out the worst of the worst, he should. but the courts have said he cant. so all that can be done is to go after the ones who are illegal aliens. which is then called racist! ironic.

maybe none of this would be a problem if poverty didn't exist. that would be nice. but it does.

look at what ice is actually doing. i've been thinking of starting a thread on this. they're actually being really effective. they have these gang members down cold, and know exactly where they're hiding up. even if it's in the whitebread suburbs. there's obviously national intelligence information being used. not even bothering with parallel construction either. and the same tech that was developed for identifying the nexus individuals in terrorists organizations.

now being used to make our cities safer and possibly livable again. damn i miss the downtown portland that i used to visit before all the blue tents and fent zombies took it over. it was actually nice, despite all the libs, haha.

I dont like the reality of this narrative. I think its too biased, and reminiscent of "hell by handbasket" propaganda. And this is the last post... because I frittered my lazy day doing this.

But play with me one more time.... On the assumption these cities are decaying into gang crime.

Lets play "match the city." (Including 3 that you named.)

Homicides in 2025 by city:

Cities:
Quote:1. San Diego (1,395,000)
2. Little Rock  (205,000)
3. Jackson, MS (145,000)
4. Portland (635,000)
5. San Francisco (843,000)

Totals:
Quote:A. 51
B. 28
C. 75
D. 28
E. 44

Care to play?

And if you do..Afterwards, compare the per capita homicide rate to poverty rates.

Sure! 1B, 2C, 3E, 4D, 5A? I pretty much just guessed.

Still won't park my car in San Francisco though.

And thanks for the convo I'm tired too. :)

1B, 2E, 3C, 4A, 5D..

Okay... So did that make your head explode with paradox?

Because if not, I failed.

To Jackson's credit though, It dropped to its lowest level since 2017, from 114 in 2024. And only little Rock recorded an increase for the year.

If San Fransisco had the Jackson, MS homicide rate they would have recorded 431 instead of 28.. San Diego would have had 716 instead of 28. Portand would have had 325 instead of 51.

And it was their "lowest rate" since 2017.
