Which is stronger? Love or Hate?

A digging friction longing to find an end.

Love expands... real love doesn't end... ever.
But love requires intent of an earnest heart, a willing soul... not words.

It thrives within faith, and separate from it... any kind of faith...

Oh dear goodness Maxmars that is a great thread waiting to happen for you, the difference between love and consumptive infatuation.

The conflation and substitution in Western mind, the songs of "burning love"...

A means of consumer indoctrination of sensory and 'selfish disguised as selfless' gratification in a materialistic culture?

On Valentine's Day, no less...

Why am I thoroughly embarrassed?

I must pause and consider... but not without saying thank you for the response!

That makes a good sound bite ... but is it true?

If you take life on Earth and measure which is stronger,
love or hate , it seems very obvious that hate is stronger.

It isn't until you add the Christian notion of an afterlife with
a loving creator God doling out rewards and punishments
that you can possibly get the 'love is stronger than hate'.

I say that on Earth, hate is stronger than love.
It's more motivating.   It has more passion.
It has more energy.  It is more binding.

And yes, some people love to hate.

What do you say ... which is stronger?   Love or Hate?

And that's not a judgement upon hate.
Hate isn't necessarily a bad thing.
It all depends on the situation and what is hated.

For me, it's love.  I would crawl over broken glass and fresh lava to save my kids or grandkids.  There are people I intensely dislike, but I wouldn't crawl over either of those things in the name of revenge.  I might do something else (toss a lawyer at them or call the cops) but I wouldn't risk myself to help them shuffle off the mortal coil.

But my family?  My husband?  Yeah, I'd throw away my life if it saved theirs.

Emotions are like a color wheel

We cycle through all the colors in various stages to reach higher levels of consciousness or awareness

Problems arise from getting "stuck" in the heavier, dense emotions like grief and anger

Learning to accept that we are a full spectrum and allowing all emotions to freely flow like waves, allows heavier emotions to dissipate, easier

Denying free expression for "bad" emotions like rage or hate causes them to become trapped

Trapped emotions with no outlet build over time until they erupt ---either inward or outward

For me, true love is the strongest.

And you can always feel when someone is truly loving.

Some people radiate kindness without needing a doctrine or a promise of an afterlife because their compassion is genuine.

Belief does not create love.

Character does.

Some people just radiate a kind of warmth that feels grounded in who they are, not in what they expect to get back.
Evil Will Never Win.

Lately hate seems to be getting stronger than love...which sucks.

Seems that more people are hooked on money these days too, it distorts their beliefs.  Most people who give to others do it to make themselves look or feel better too, they want recognition for helping others...

But there are still people that are not like this, and I am proud of them.

And I know plenty of people that take advantage of others niceness....they have become entitles and expect charity instead of appreciating it.  I do not know if this is like this in other countries, but it is evident  here in the USA.

This question is a trap. Love does not boast¹.

Love is the ultimate force of life.

It is what drives existence itself.

Hate is a derivative of love, not its opposite.

Apathy is closest to the opposite of love.

Hate is derived from a passion to hold something dear.

You 'hate' because something you love was afflicted.

That's just the way I see things.

So yeah, Love is stronger.
