I'm 61, went to a private school. I have seen the worst of humanity already.
But i have also seen the best of humanity, i like to think i came out of it as a well balanced person.
At least i hope so.
I really do fear for the younger generation today, they have so more hills to climb, so much more to take in.
In my time it was kind of black & white.....

Well also it was a Catholic high school. I wonder what the other staff thought of the parent's permissiveness. And I wonder if there were circumstances leading in to the mother's "retirement". Actually, no, I don't wonder. This has become culture-war fodder. It's distasteful how those with agendas try to contrive ways to glom their narratives on to a tragedy.

My art teacher was gay as a bicycle, i didn't hate him for that. He never tried anything on with us boys, but i hated him for not trying to stop the older boys when they were beating me up! He just hated violence and turned away. That was when i swore i would never turn my back on someone in trouble. And i never have, even if it cost me a few teeth and a rib or 2.

I do think religion presents a false world.  Especially to vulnerable children.

The world is not loving, kind, peaceful, forgiving, and then there's the judgment of those deemed not acceptable to God.

There's a Facebook thread called:  "Born Different" -- when the soup of "How to make a Human" gets stirred -- anything is possible.  

I suspect we will discover this shooter had issues from an early age.

You can be anti Christian or whatever, but when you take it out on children, you need to be put down.

To try and say this had nothing to do with his transgender illness, most likely instilled upon him, by a group of fact not liking people, isn't my fault.

I know this because I think on my own,

- The justification of all delusion.

have a background in developmental neurobiology,

- We all have brains and nervous systems and are all, to some degree, self-observing.

and I don't mindlessly regurgitate what my ideology tells me to say.

Surely, if your ideations are not supported by empirical observation, by others as well as by yourself, they are provably delusional?

Someone with a background in developmental biology would have encountered issues of neurodivergence, which is an inevitable and necessary result of our, rather incredible, self-organising neuroplasticity?

Even among the trans community, there is diversity of expression and ideation. Most classifications are fuzzed-out as more of a continuum of possible states, which also change over time, not some sort of clear-cut, cast-in-stone, binary on/off.

As a microbiologist friend loved to say, "A trained organism, in a controlled environment, will do as it damn well pleases"!!!!

This, and the inability to truly apply the scientific method, is what prevents psychology from being science.

Again, you are reframing things to be compliant with your opinion.

Quite clever people also perpetrate violence. So applying an additional classifier ('dumbness') is neither helpful in the prevention of violence nor even useful in gaining an understanding its reasons.

The same, 'biological gender'-predicated tendency towards violence in males is observed in the animal kingdom and in organisms which could not particularly have any 'feminine wiles'.
