It happens to the best of us...

They places are also not the same as they were 50 years ago.

And not so sure as to the rest peace-wise...

But Belfast 50 years ago.

""Peaceful"" is not how i would summarise the troubles, Steamy

Just saying...  Lol

And to think in Ireland not so long ago it was Protestant vs Catholics.

Just wait until the whole of your country goes from Simmer to Boil to Broil.

Id say the temperature is getting rather warm about now in the UK.

Might wanna have knife handy. Just sayin.

Both are quite unrecognizable but in a good way.  Step daughter lives in SE London in a town that used to be a right shithole.

Now transformed with new pubs, bars, kebab houses, Chinese food even a Chinese supermarket which is great, curry houses, Polish restaurants, etc.  All good.

London scares me but that's the bendy buses and trying to work out the new tube lines.

Most parts of my old stamping grounds are now gentrified.

I couldn't afford to move back..

Okay. Thank you.

Alas my slow ass is confused.

Is all this a good or bad thing all told? Sounds good right until the end.

And if all the asylum seekers are living off the government teat, who lives in your old stomping grounds now? Why’d you move?

Nah, mate.  All just GB News and Farage BS.

At least we don't have a leader with frontotemporal dementia who is making us a laughing stock on the World stage and generally fucking everything up.

We can get rid of unpopular PMs without an election.

You are stuck with Sleepy Don because Republicans don't have the balls to challenge him.

And with the Reflection Pool thing, he seems to have been defeated by a single cell organism.... Spin
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

School was like that in the 80s, Protestant school fighting the Catholic school at lunch time/home time.

We grew out of it and moved on to football in the 90s. LoL

I mean, you find sectarianism there also, to be sure, especially in the likes of Glasgow.

But progress is a thing, i like to think we have come rather a long way in the past 50 years, at least where less hatred of one another is concerned...

And not just here but all up and down the island.

People simply dont care what religion someone else is anymore.

Unless it's the Gammon hating on Muslims.

I mean im sure there are still some right nutters who are Catholics and Protestants that hate in the old way, but for the most part, they are gone...

You would need to be nuts to come near me with anything Steamy, as i enjoy that sort of challenge, even at 50, it's all in the eyes you see.  Lol

Weapons are for mugs, and when you are caught using them, they put you away for a spell, not worth it really...

Not bad. Democrats seem cucked too though. In fact no one in either party outside Massie seems to give a shit about the citizens of my country. So I do see your point.

Maybe it ain’t all bad then? I still contend your 1984 speech laws are just as bad as our chilly Gestapo. If I didn’t have morals or a smidge of self-esteem maybe I’d be one. Hear they pay well and ya get to beat people up. Only one of which appeals to me. Of course when Trump is gone, there’ll be a reckoning with regards to his law dogs acting outside the scope of their enforcement. But I won’t hold my breath that long.

We got guns son.

And I’ll say this much. If someone ever harmed my family, you better hope the cops do their job with alacrity and efficient effort and find them before I do.

You can play this in court btw.

We have guns also, Steamy.

And when they are used its generally for the more serious crimes as opposed to the run-of-the-mill sorts.

Because of the penalties involved if you are caught with one.

If anyone comes for your family, you do what you have to do, law be darned, thats just human nature.

And then we are back to the law of the jungle.

Now playing it in court, that's another matter where the likes of reasonable force tend to rear its head, well, here in the UK that is...

One man charged as a terrorist (and rightly so) for trying to behead other people in public versus another man, trying the same exact thing, is classed as "someone with a learning disorder" and is rushed away to a safe house, where he can feel 'safe' and not again try to attack other people with knives.
Have i got this story right so far?

I could be mistaken, but I think the latter assumption has been mixed up. The special ed guy I think was the dude that tried to feed crocs a 3 year old human snack. The African migrant who tried to behead the older gentleman with a dull blade and stabbing him multiple times in the eyes and face would probably be the example you were looking for to compare with this attack.

Just one man thats alleged to have attacked four people on the streets of Edinburgh with what looks to be a large kitchen knife or machete.

He was apprehended by the police and lying on the floor, screaming about protecting his country.

He will most likely be in court sometime this morning.

So hopefully more information will become available or possibly shine some more light on his motivations.
